Low & Slow.

Always, start with lowest amount to start, slowest speed - once a day for a few days and see how you do. Increase only gradually.

Unless, of course it's a Rx for a very specific infection of acute nature.

You could just open it into a 1/2 cup of water, stir and drink it. It really has no flavor that I recall.

Since you are opening the capsule anyway, 1/4 to 1/2 capsule in maybe 1/4 cup of applesauce (that that has a lot of sugar being so processed and could be counterproductive to efforts to keep candida under control). I do not suggest applesauce.

Any fruits should be whole and low glycemic like blueberries or similar dark berries / cherries, after a meal.

Liquified fruits like applesauce or any fruit juices are sky high on the glycemic index and can shoot blood sugar to the moon and then drop you soon afterward. And they can make candida so much harder to manage.

You could mix it in a few bites of any food - with your greens would be more appealing than turning otherwise nice food charcoal color.

Be sure to rinse mouth with water afterward. When opening capsule, keep it closes to food so powder does not fly up in your face.

Call your doctor's office and confirm the instructions. Anytime you are unsure of the dose instructions, call them. They have a reason for the dose they suggest.

That still would be to work up within a week to ten days or so, not the starting dose, most likely. And you may do very well and be able to get up to that dose fairly soon. Just never start off at the top.

As they are capsules, and you say you have trouble swallowing capsules, I wonder if you've tried this approach. As the powder inside this is not at all caustic as some Rx can be . . .

put capsule in mouth, add a little water and let it soften up just a bit and then take some more water to swallow it down. Wetting the capsule beforehand for a bit should help it go down.

Just be sure to put it in SOMETHING. You could choke on the powder.

My husband used to mix charcoal powder in water and call it his 'sewer water'. LOL

Charcoal helps to bind the toxins and carry them out of the body.

Currently hubby is taking 3 capsules of charcoal and 3 capsules of psyllium husks at night.

Linda .. keep a steno notebook nearby .. Just write down anything you need to remember for that day.

I find myself writing notes on sticky notes, but if I can make myself use a notebook, then I can look back to see what I need and I always have a record of it.

Hope this helps!

thanks everybody. So another question, I am going to take two of these capsules today mixed with applesauce. Do I take them away from my daily meds, such as thyroid, blood pressure, etc. or does it make a difference.

yes, take at least 2-3 hours away from meds.

The charcoal will bind with the meds.

I take seizure meds and I leave 4 hours between those and charcoal to be sure.

Spoke to my lyme doctor yesterday, never started these charcoal capsules until I spoke to her. She said to take five at one time. Keebler, does this sound right to you? You mentioned going low and slow? Please advise.
