For various reasons, I removed myself from my son's treatment and let my husband and the LLMD (different from mine) handle it.

Yesterday I decided to insert myself into the process because he has been treating for 3.5 years and he needs to be ready for college in the fall. He is being treated by a LLMD who has had great reviews from people and gotten a lot of them well.

Turns out my son has been on malarone for 1.5 years. Is this normal for malarone? I took mepron (different LLMD) and it was nowhere near this long. Definitely 6 months or less and finished up with coartem at the end.

When he initially started treatment he took malarone. The LLMD removed it and his symptoms came back so he went back on it and has been on it since
