Hi. I got retested through Igenex a month ago and guess what, I am positive for lyme.

Doctor stated me on
Biaxin
Plaquenil
ceftin
Transfer Factor Plus

Its about time. I have been sick for two years and knew it was lyme but now it has fully shown its ugly face. What can I expect starting on these med's., any suggestions.

Thanks

So HAPPY you are finally getting treatment. [hi]

If I have learned anything through this journey, it is you MUST become your own health-care advocate. Doctors DONT have a clue, unfortunately. Thank God you fought to get treatment. Your first testing SHOWED you had borrelia SPECIFIC bands. Your clinical symptoms SCREAMED Lyme disease. Yet you had to suffer through months and months and months of debilitating and often times, scary symptoms. I am so sorry you had to go through all of that.

When will doctor's get educated on Vector Borne Illnesses?????

You are missing supplements and an anti-fungal on your protocol. Read Dr B's Lyme treatment;

http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf

Now you have to research on detoxing your body from the die-off of toxins from the antibiotics. You can use the 'search' function on Lymenet.

Get your home stocked with necessities.
Water. Wholesome foods. Crockpot soups that you can freeze. Buy an eraser board to write down your daily med schedule. Write down the time you take each med, you will not remember, eliminate medicine mistakes.
Always journal daily symptoms. Place a heart ❤️ sticker on good days to track your progress. Keep your eye on the big picture, you WILL get better !!!!!

Some days you will be struggling to get up so your goal is to make your life as easy as possible. Carry a cordless phone in your robe. Wear soft and comfortable clothing that's easy to get on and off. And as always, Lymenet is open 24 hours a day for support. 💚

thank you Bonnie so much. I did scream lyme and she did put me on doxy for a few months however, this tests showed five bands positive instead of two. What else should I take Bonnie? My brain is not working too good these days, lyme fog I guess. Can u help me along as to what else I need. Thanks again. I appreciate any help along the way.

Detoxing such as lemon water, Epson salt baths, I remember some. Probiotics is another thing, yes that is on my list as well. I wont lie, I am scared to death starting treatment but will fight this tooth and nail. I know it wont be easy.

I can not give medical advise. I am not a doctor. But I can tell you what helps me. Remember, everyone is different.

Magnesium
Glutathone
ATP Fuel (NT Factors)
Turmeric/Curcumins
Vit C
Vit B 12 (methylocobalamin sublingual)
Resveratrol
D-Ribose
3 Probiotics
Milk Thistle
Chlorella

Of coarse I rotate many others, oregano oil capsules, olive leaf extract, nettle leaf, Quercetin, alpha-Lipoic acid, NAC, stevia, cod liver oil, kidney and liver drains, melatonin, biocidin, Vit D, Vit E, ect. . .

What you put into your body is so important.
No sugar, no carbs, no flours, no soy, no gmo's, no soda, no alcohol, clean water. My plate is 3/4 vegetables and 1/4 meat for protein.

Sleep is when we heal.
Sleep comes hard for me.

Once you get comfortable in your protocol, and are feeling well enough, it is important to do weight-resistance exercise.
I joined a gym. I only use equipment that I can sit at. I start at the lowest weight (5lbs) and do repetitive lifts. Then I move to another machine that concentrates on the legs. I try to go to the gym 2x a week, 1 hour at a time. Don't overdue it, nice and easy, just get the muscles to engage. So VERY important for your immune system. When I get home, I take an Epsom salt bath for 1/2.

Hopefully others will add more ideas as to what works for them. Lyme is so COMPLICATED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's why we need a good LLMD to figure it out for us.

thanks again Bonnie. I appreciate all this information. I had to crush my biaxin since I cannot swallow this big pill and omg, the metallic taste is disgusting. Anyone can help me with this issue? I am wondering if it comes in liquid form.

Yes I am. not sure if I should stay. I came up positive last year but only two bands on igenex so she treated me for a short time. I asked to be retested, this time four bands.
