Desperate.Need,Internist or family Doc, GI doc, endocrinologist, rheumatologist and neurologist in NC(Raleigh or any or triangle area).I am a Dr J in DC LLD patient. Need other Specialties to support (my health so poor) due to late stage chronic Lyme.
Dr J says the 3 major surgeries, assault and 3 auto accidents suffered after I finished my 11 months of IV antibiotics in 2004 and improved, reactivated my Lyme wiped out many improvements others issues improved but not as much as others. I was in such bad shape- he saved my life but by the time he did so much damage was done.
I think NC the worst state to live in if you have Lyme as Docs either do not believe in or pretend not to now due to Dr J persecution. Even the Internist who originally diagnosed and sent me to Dr J and really believed in him so scared he dropped his chronic lyme patients. I've lost him, a supportive pain doc to death another to research sabbatical, lost 2 other specialists to medical leaves that may be permanent.
I am so far from Dr J, they cannot handle all specialties for me. I need to develop a team slightly knowledgeable that doesn't freak out about the Lyme.I am so sick right now. I have been bedridden pretty much since October. Not all is Lyme, but all is related probably. Hard to tell what is just the Lyme with so many systems involved. Labs so bad etc...Help would be greatly appreciated. any replies please tell if specialist is Lyme literate or just Lyme friendly. Really miss having Dr J closer by. I was lucky to get major Lyme treatment before insurance cut that off here but so much damage already done and probably not repairable due to at least 15 years misdiagnosis resulting in brain injury and major GI surgeries making it hard to restore health.I consider every day since 8/2003 a gift from Dr J. Unfortunately health really hindered right now by other ignorant Docs. [Frown]
