I'm looking for LLMDs in Orange County CA for my wife. Specifically looking for general practitioners, psychiatrists (neuro lyme), and endocrinologists (she likely has hormone balance issues too). We've been through several local LLMDs already who all seem to run into dead-ends. Any recommendations would be helpful.

Until others come along who know the docs in your state, I suggest you look at Support Groups on the left side of the page. Find the ones in California that are near you.
Ask these groups who is getting people well.
A true lyme specialist is a doctor whose practice is 100% lyme or at least 50% lyme. Such a doc could be a gp or any other type of doctor.
But, generally they would NOT be an endocrinologist or an infectious diseases specialist or psychiatrist.
A lyme specialist will know all the endocrine issues that come with lyme and also the psychiatric issues.
If you have never read the Burrascano Lyme Treatment Guidelines, that is a good place to start to get your education on this complex disease.
Pages 9-10 list some of the more common lyme symptoms. Actually, there can be hundreds of lyme symptoms. For example, lyme gave me a false menopause. All the gyns said that I was just in menopause. However, once I found out I had lyme and got to a GOOD lyme doctor, I came out of "menopause" and was again premenopause.
Please get your wife to the very best lyme specialist you can possibly afford because that gives her the best chance of actually getting rid of this disease.
When I went to lesser lyme doctors, I did NOT come out of my false menopause.
This is why you want to study the Burrascano Guidelines. Until she is put on treatment like what is stated in these Guidelines, her treatment will most likely fail.
A lyme patient needs to be on combinations of antibiotics simultaneously, not one at a time. Also, see Burrascano for the correct dosages.
In addition, she must be treated for all coinfections she most likely has. If this is not done, she will not recover.
So, I hope you can see that the doc is the KEY to recovery from this disease (which is actually a number of diseases).
Even though I went undiagnosed for at least 10 years, I still got rid of my lyme once I switched to a doctor who followed the Burrascano Guidelines. It turns out I had lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella. Nearly all lyme patients have at least these 3 diseases.

Also, quite likely there will not be any true lyme specialists in your county. Lyme specialists are few and far between. Expect to travel to get good care.
Many lyme docs will do telephone appointments with patients after the first in-person appointment. That cuts down on the amount of travel you have to do.
Good docs see/talk to their patients once per month. The best ones always have a significant wait to get in. And, the cost of the first appointment is high. So, find out all you can about how the doctor treats before you wait in line and shell out the big bucks.
Study the doc's website. Is it all about lyme? It should be. How long has he been a lyme specialist? The better ones have at least 10 years of experience. The best have more.
So, ask around a LOT. Many people make a poor first choice of a doctor. Education is your key to getting through the lyme doctor learning curve.
