Hi folks,

Haven't been here in a long time. I have an LLMD in CT who treats the illness but not the pain. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!

Hi lifewithlyme

I don't think you would want another LLMD just for pain management. It would be a great financial burden.

You could probably get an insurance covered pain management doctor to treat you. But most likely, you would have to exploit your other ailments, as most mainstream pain doctors are oblivious to TBI's and the horrific pain they cause.

That said, hopefully someone else would have some suggestions as to where to go in your area. Just in case you're interested in another LLMD, I am seeing you a pm.

Thank you so much for responding!! Yeah I don't want another LLMD just a pain management doctor with a little compassion and (if possible) a tiny understanding of Lyme.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/ConnecticutLyme/info

Maybe they can help. They would know better about CT.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):
