My son has seen a infectious disease specialist at Crozier (Upland, PA). He has stated nothing can be done and took him off meds. My son has severe headaches and lost his appetite and is losing weight. I am very worried. Can someone please help recommended a "Lyme" Specialist that may offer a 2nd opinion and help us? Thanks in Advance! Steve

Welcome to Lymenet Steve

You need to have your son evaluated by a Lyme Litterate Medical Doctor (LLMD). These specialists treat according to ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society)

Infectious Doc's treat according to the IDSA (Infectious Disease Society) that promotes the "Lyme is hard to get and easy to cure" falsehood. Here's more;

You need to research all you can about vector borne diseases.
You have to become your son's healthcare advocate. Start getting your finances in order as Lyme is expensive to treat. Most LLMD'S don't participate with insurances. Here's why;

You can also connect with your area's Lyme support group. Members offer valuable information on your area's LLMD'S and provide much needed support while you navigate this horrible disease. Here's your group;

You can request a LLMD through ILADS here;

I will send you a private message.

Healing wishes to your son and family.

How old is your son? We need this info so as to be able to send you the names of Lyme-literate doctors (LLMDs) who can treat him, because some LLMDs only treat adults, others only children, while still others see both.
