A family member was bit by a tick two weeks ago in north western Colorado. He had a bullseye and flu like symptoms, and tested positive for Lyme. He tested negative for Rocky Mountain. All these tests were done at his local hospital.
He has been on antibiotics for two weeks, and things seem to be getting worse. Headaches and severe joint pain seem to be the main complaints.
What co-infections are common in that area? How soon should he feel better? Are there any LLMDs in Utah? PM me if necessary.

Very important that he be taking enough antibiotics. I moved your post here for referrals, but please repost in Medical Questions to get some discussion going.

ILADS recommends patients recieve 4 -6 weeks of doxycycline, amoxicillin, or cefuroxine.
All patients should be reassessed at the end of their initial therapy and when necessary, antibiotic therapy should be extended.
