When I first wake up I think ok not so bad but as soon as I am up I began to feel worse.

Mornings are bad but late evenings I seem to come to life, that is life for a lyme person.

i'm sort of like that

when i wake-usually 12 hrs after my fish oil and ibuprofen-i am in pretty bad pain. i often have to hold on to the walls for awhile to walk.

a lot with me is arthritis-osteo.

so as i move it gets a little better

then my first chore is to get my meds and supps into me...and i think then i start to feel some better

usually once i am up i don;t have fatique and my brain is at its best.

i go down hill cognitively as the day goes on...and latley-i'm going thru a bad spell-i get fatigued late afternoon-early evening...then -whether i have a nap or nt i get energy at night and can't get to sleep til midnight to 3 am. if i take sleep meds it usully works..

my old docs had me on cortef but new one took me off.and i wonder if that would help me fall asleep at a more reasonable time. i am alos on armou r throid.

sorryy bout typing

I've read that it could be because of problems with adrenal function...
I'm sure others will chime in soon with more info!
I also feel horrible when I wake up. I wouldn't say that I feel like I "come to life" in the evening, though! Seems like I just feel crappy most of the time!

lpkayak--did you feel that Cortef helped you at all?

I used to feel that way also.

My LLMD said that lyme patients cortisol levels are high in the evening instead of the morning, which is part of the problem.

I take DHEA in the a.m. (had blood testing done), and bioidentical hormones that help me.

I also take supps for sleep (l-tryptophan, l-theanine, sublingual melatonin) that help.

And I try to purposely get off the computer and turn off the lights at night, to let my body relax and stop feeling pumped up at night.

I no longer feel run over by a truck in the morning.

I don't feel like I'm in a fog, or ready to run a race at night with my pounding heart like I used to.
