7 things that could hinder our prayers.

1. Un-prayed prayers. James 4:2 you have not because you ask not.

2. Un-confessed sin Psalm 66:18, Proverbs 15:29, Proverbs 28:9, Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:1-2

3. Unbelieving mind. James 1:6-8

4. Unrighteous motives James 4:3

5. Unresolved conflicts Matthew 5:23-24, Mark 11:25-26

6. Uncompassionate hearts Proverbs 21:13

7. Unresponsive husbands 1 Peter 3:7, Matthew 18

If anyone is interested, I, when able, will put the verses in and expand.

I Love this.

Prayer of an Unknown Confederate Soldier, aka The Creed for the Disabled

I asked God for strength that I might achieve.
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked for health that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.

I asked for riches that I might be happy.
I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I asked for power that I might have the praise of men.
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.

I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for.

Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.

I am, among all men, most richly blessed.

[group hug]

2 Corinthians 12:9-11

9 But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me.

Please keep Gage in prayer. He has pneumonia and has been in the hospital twice in the past week.

Wow!! Read this from Gage's mom today:

"I walked into the hospital today saying today is a day of victory. So far this day doesn't appear in any way to be victorious for Gage. However, as God hears me and I cry out to Him he has made it clear victory isn't winning, it's trusting him with all of this.

Victory to The Lord is not first place, getting your way, Gage being healed right now, having an easy day or an easy life. The victory is trusting His plan, relinquishing any control I think I have, it's rolling over the bump, not stopping at the bump, it's knowing that eternity is worth any sacrifice I'm called to here on Earth.

So, today we will be victorious. We will trust Gods plan."

It would bless me if you guys would also pray for a man named William. I taught him in 4th grade 36 years ago. He was always special to me and I know I made a difference in his life.

(long story)

I've wondered about him all these years. The last I saw him was when he was about 19. We moved from that city in 1989 and over time I had forgotten his last name. I finally connected with former students at this school and found out his name. Well, I also found out that he lost two children and two step children in a house fire 8 years ago.

Just broke my heart for him and I've been emotional all night over it. I just pray he is "OK." So tough to think about.

Thanks, gang.

Thanks, Dekrator and Pocono. I went to a celebration of life today for a church member. What a great person he was! I will never forget him!

There is a chance I will connect with William soon. It would be such a treat to be able to talk to him.

Gage is in ICU. I hope he is doing better today.

Will pray for little Benjamin and his family.

**editing to add ... Gage just got out of ICU an hour ago. He was there all of yesterday and last night**

1 Peter 3:7New King James Version (NKJV)

A Word to Husbands

7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

My remembrance of the sermon stated that God takes glory in husbands serving their wives as a wife is a gift from God.

Don't go by my memory though. [Smile] The service is here.

ok, so that verse is more of a reference for the husbands.

I first thought from your quote that it was saying a woman couldn't have prayers answered BECAUSE of her husband, o my! imagine.

From Gage's Mother:

"Yesterday I cried all the way to the hospital. I was so discouraged and so tired of watching Gage suffer. I was talking to a friend about it and saying that Gage needs mercy and help and God isn't helping him.

He's struggling to breathe, he has awful coughing attacks and drops In O2. The struggle wears on us. By afternoon Gage began to turn around. Something changed. He seemed better and I wasn't a wreck. He wasn't choking and gasping. He had a good evening, a crazy night staying up, but a good day today.

He's still very sick, on high flow oxygen, needs help with secretions but something has changed.

Tonight my in laws stayed with him so Dan and I could watch Dane's first home basketball game. Dane scored the winning shot. His team won by 1 point. He's a freshman on JV. My kids are under a ton of stress. Dane rose up tonight and for us to see him perform under our situation was Grace from God. And guys we had FUN!!!!

We smiled and yelled and cheered and we laughed and hugged people we just met. God is remembering us. He is with us. I've been a Christian since I was 4 years old and asked Jesus into my heart.

I need God even though we are suffering, even though there is suffering and even though my child has suffered. I still believe in God. I still trust Him."

--

Just letting you guys see the faith in this woman! It also helps you know what to pray for. Such a struggle for Gage and for this family.

Gage's Mom must be one incredibly strong and faithful woman!

Praying for Gage and his family.

Prayers for all of you here too.

God always finds a way to encourage us in our struggles.

My older grandson is having a hard time with his parents divorce and the animosity that he sees and hears regularly.

This has affected him emotionally and physically.

About 3 weeks ago, I wanted to spend some time alone with him, to encourage him with God's word and prayer.

We were sitting at the bar in our kitchen and I was explaining about a dozen scriptures to my grandson regarding healing, strength...God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me...etc.

During this time, it becomes dark and we hear some thunder in the distance. I commented to my grandson that it was odd to have a thunderstorm in November in Pennsylvania.

A short time later I told my grandson I was going to pray over him and had him stand in our dining room under the crucifix on the wall.

I put my hands on his head and prayed out loud for him. In those moments when my hands were on his head, we had the biggest rumble of thunder you could imagine. It shook our house.

My grandson got scared and did a nose dive onto the sunroom floor. He said "Nannie, I'm scared. Does your house always shake like that?"

I told him it did [Wink] and that it would be ok and asked him to get up so I could finish praying for him...and he did.

I know God was listening. He sure has a way of letting us know that He is near and cares about us.

I give thanks to God for all that he has done for me.

I also have a fb friend who recently made a trip to Medjugorje.

She is a very faith-filled woman who lost her husband to ALS in the last year.

She took 2 silver religious medals along with her.

She posted photos of her medals, which were turning GOLD while she was there.

Believe always!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 (NIV)

17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Gage went to heaven around 12:45 pm CST today....

We are heartbroken that Gage is gone, but thankful that he has been restored to perfect health in Heaven where there is no cancer. Gage was the luckiest boy ever to have been placed in the Geddes family where he was surrounded by love and strength. God spoke through this child to so many and so many lives have been forever changed because he lived. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Lymetoo, it will be ten years this January 12th that my son, Elijah died from a brain tumor. I have thought of Gage and his family often.

I was hoping that they would not have to deal with the same loss. I will continue to pray for them. The season ahead will be the hardest.

I know, soccermama. So sorry to hear about your Elijah. [Frown] That is such a tough journey. I was wondering if the time ahead is even worse than what they've already gone through for the past 9 1/2 years.

Hard to imagine. Just praying they can survive it all.

With God's grace, they will.

Thanking God this morning for some good news.

My older grandson has been having a very difficult time since the announcement of his parents divorce.

Unfortunately, his parents often act angry and resentful which is the root of the problem.

My grandson has gotten much worse since Sept, developing OCD-like habits that have been making life very difficult for him.

He also feels angry a lot and has a difficult attitude.

Counseling has not been helping at all.

We decided to send him for neurobiofeedback sessions with a local Chiro who does a lot of alternative treatments.

He started last week and is going 2 x a week. So far he has had 3 sessions.

This morning he was able to get up and get ready for school with no difficulty, he was calm and happy and had a good attitude!

Praise God! This is a huge improvement!!!

He will continue to go for treatments.

Lord,
You know the storms we face,

You Know our voices,

We ask that Lymetoo.

find the words to answer each post here,

with Your Guidiness and Will.

She has faced so many depressing and

Empty questions, she faces family daily,

And what the world can do to the most

confidant of US without spinning in Lyme.

Bless Her and Keep Her always.

May The Angels oversee her and Family.

Though we walk in the Valley of Darkness,

The Path be Lighted and Comforting to HER.

I am sure if She had a pocket full of

Blessings...

she would pass everyone of them out

and find she has left her self with none.

I ask of her this, be selfish for a minute

Take a hand full of BLESSINGS and

Shower yourself with JOY. YES,

God's Mercy and Grace is enough,

We know as you are here daily for US.

And, For HIM as a good servant..and,

Knowing Jesus as Our Savior

 -

Merry Christmas ! I mean MERRY \o/ [bow]

Praying for everyone tonight. This really touched me and I feel so sorry for everyone who is suffering today.

From Gage's mom:

"Sometimes your kids give you a Christmas gift you never expected bc it isn't wrapped up and sitting under the tree. We stayed the night with one of my closest friends last night. And her husband shared that he had a dream about Gage and Gage said, "Tell her thank you." It broke me.

Gage thanked me all the time but I was blessed beyond words hearing this and knowing this was from The Lord. Tonight Dane asked me to come to his room and we were talking.

I shared with Dane the dream our friend had. He looked at me and said, "Mom if something happened to me I would want to thank you too. You should never doubt that we appreciate you." [Dane is 17]

Blown away and I KNOW you guys praying for us is helping us. I want to crawl in a hole and be done but these kids pull me out and make me walk on. Prayer carries this family."

Luke 1:26-38

26In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,

27to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

28And he came to her and said, "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!"

29But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be.

30And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

31And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.

32He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,

33and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end."

34And Mary said to the angel, "How shall this be, since I have no husband?"

35And the angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.

36And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.

37For with God nothing will be impossible."

38And Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.

One day about 2 months ago, Gage told his mom, "I adore you. Don't ever leave me."

He told his family several times that he saw Jesus.

It must be very comforting to Gage's family that he told them he saw Jesus.

I bet Gage was not afraid of dying.

Praying for his dear family.

It would be difficult to face the loss of a child anytime, let alone at Christmas time.

Praying that they can focus on the gift of Jesus' birth to give them strength during this time.

I agree, Dekrator. I doubt he was afraid of dying. I think he also saw an angel once. The family knew he was anointed.

Thank you, Lisa. I hope you have a really blessed Christmas.

My dear precious Jesus, I did not mean to take your place,
I only bring toys and things, and you bring love and grace.

People give me lists of wishes and hope that they came true;
But you hear prayers of the heart and promise your will to do.

Children try to be good and not to cry when I am coming to town;
But you love them unconditionally and that love will abound.

I leave only a bag of toys and temporary joy for a season;
But you leave a heart of love, full of purpose and reasons.
I have a lot of believers and what one might call fame;

But I never healed the blind or tried to help the lame.
I have rosy cheeks and a voice full of laughter;
But no nail—scarred hands or a promise of the hereafter.

You may find several of me in town or at a mall;
But there is only one omnipotent you, to answer a sinner’s call.

And so, my dear precious Jesus, I kneel here to pray;
To worship and adore you on this, your holy birthday.

Santa

Prayers for all, and a very Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Luke 2:1-14

1In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled.

2This was the first enrollment, when Quirin'i-us was governor of Syria.

3And all went to be enrolled, each to his own city.

4And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,

5to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.

6And while they were there, the time came for her to be delivered.

7And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

8And in that region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear.

10And the angel said to them, "Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people;

11for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

12And this will be a sign for you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger."

13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

14"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased!"

Please pray for my cousin, Scott, who has metastatic cancer, has refused treatment (was treated a few years ago for cancer and did not want to go through chemo again), and is now under the care of hospice.

I just found this out yesterday. He did not want to tell anyone and ruin their Christmas.

He is only 55 years old. His Mother(my Aunt)is devastated, lives in another state and is traveling to be with him tomorrow. They have had a distant relationship in the past.

My biggest concern here is that I am not sure that he is a Christian.

We have had casual contact through fb in the last few years, and from some of his posts and responses to posts, I suspect that he is now a non-believer.

Please pray for God to reveal Himself to Scott in a very big way and for Scott to accept Jesus as His Lord and Savior before it is too late.

Please pray for Scott's Mom too.

Thank you dear friends.

Thanks hiker53.

I was texting with his girlfriend during the last week and found out that she is a faith-filled Christian.

She even told me about how her Mom was killed in a car accident 12 yrs ago. Her 3 yr old grandson (her Mom's great-grandson) was also injured in the same accident. He had just turned 3.

After the accident the little boy told everyone how beautiful it was there, his great-grandma (who died) told him he had to "go back", but that she had to go with God.

I was encouraged that she would have had a good influence on my cousin during the last 1 1/2 yrs or so that they have been together.

I was able to send my cousin a message before he died and his girlfriend read it to him when he was still alert.

My deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your dear cousin, Scott. I also hope he turned to the Lord and went home to be with Him.

Please find comfort in this beautiful poem:

We pray that in this time of loss,
You'll feel God's love much more

And that you'll find your comfort
In the presence of the Lord

We pray God pours upon you,
His sweet amazing grace

And overflow your heart with peace
As you live in His embrace.

I would appreciate any prayers.

I am going to start IV antibiotics for a chronic Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.

I will start on Mon. 2/2 X 5 days and will repeat every 3 months, with some pulsed oral antibiotics in between.

The IV infusion is done in the Dr office.

I am praying that this will help the body wide pain and stiffness that I still have, and that I will have no complications.

Thank you, friends!

I knew the God Thought Family would like to see this 5 min video of Gage's Celebration of Life.

It's amazing.

https://vimeo.com/120526735

I believe that the first speaker was his surgeon, the second is his Pastor (you can figure that one out pretty easily) and the 3rd was his big brother's coach. (I think)

Thank you, Tutu, for posting Gage's video. It brought me to tears.

I don't understand why there is so much suffering and why God allows it, but I do know there is hope in the Resurrection and that this place is not our home.

Thanks for posting the video of Gage's Celebration of Life. Made me cry....it is beautiful. What an awesome family.

Thanks for your prayers, hopingandpraying. I appreciate it.

My first round of IV antibiotics was uneventful.

I sat in a recliner for 1 to 1 1/2 hours and read a book while it infused, so it was relaxation time.

I am taking a pulsed oral antibiotic also.

I return every 3 months for more IV antibiotics X 5 days.

They are going to post the entire ceremony once they get it done. I'm sure someone is doing this for them at no cost.

Hope the IV helps you, Dekrator!

Hi friends,

I read a lot of inspirational books about miracles and near death experiences.

I just finished reading "Rush of Heaven" by Ema McKinley.

I really recommend this book. It is a true story about a woman who was injured, ended up in a wheelchair, deformed and unable to walk or care for herself for many years.

She suffered so much for so long and then she received a miracle!

This is a very inspirational book and Ema has great faith and perseverance.

Many of us can relate to her suffering. I really enjoyed reading this and thought you may want to read it too.

Hugs dear friends!

Hi friends,

I just read a great book called, "Heaven Is So Real" by Choo Thomas (Not to be confused with "Heaven Is For Real" by Todd Burpo).

On her official website there is a link to read the ebook for free!

I really enjoyed it and hope you will check it out:

Happy Easter, dear friends!!

Because He is Risen, we have hope!!!

[bow] [bow] [bow]

Praying everyone has a blessed Easter.

I was reading a little bio about Charles Hunter, who had a worldwide healing ministry with his wife, Frances, until they died around 2008-2009.

They saw thousands of people healed at their miracle services and also taught thousands of people how to heal the sick.

I have also been reading a really fascinating book that they wrote called, "How To Heal the Sick". It is so good that I am going to read it again when I am done.

I just noticed that their daughter, Joan Hunter, also has a healing ministry and miracle services.

She is going to be in PA, not too far from me later this year, so I hope to go.

Here is her website which lists her schedule of events if anyone is interested in checking it out.

Praise God, my grandson, who developed severe OCD in recent months due to the stress of his parents breaking up, is doing much better due to increasing doses of Inositiol (Vitamin B8) and Pyridoxine (Vit B6).

His mood is improved soooo much, he is happy and much calmer, and he is about 80%+ improved from where he was a couple weeks ago with the OCD behaviors which were very out of control.

He is able to get up and get ready for school in the mornings without any problems now, and can perform other activities of daily living much easier too.

Thank God we did not go with the psychiatrist's only suggestion of putting him on anti-depressants, but searched for a natural answer with God's help.

That is worthy of praise, Dekrator!! [Smile] So wonderful!! Do you buy each B vitamin separately?

I'm so happy he is feeling better and that you could avoid the anti-deps!

Lymetoo,

I buy Source Naturals Inositol powder (Vit B8) and TwinLabs vit B6 caps.

I tried him on 1/2 tab of B12 + methylfolate, but his anxiety went through the roof, so it was discontinued after 3 days.

I suspect a MTHFR genetic variation is responsible for that.

I am considering doing the 23andme test for him, like I did a couple years ago.

He has an appt with an ND at the end of April to see if anything else should be addressed.

The OCD had gotten so bad, that we were really desperate.

I increased his dose of Inositol again on Sunday and now he is about 90% better.

I can't thank God enough for this amazing improvement in his mood and behavior.
