Hi <<<<< Lymenet Family >>>>>,

We had a strange occurrence mid morning with our Laptop PC. It is an older model and nothing fancy, That's okay,we're not super high tech' folk.

However, it is not okay for the whole screen to turn upside down. The ' Wallpaper pic' and everything, and it wouldn't go back to normal.

TxC' called my brother, who is a bit more tech savvy then we are, and after a few things we got it back to it's proper way,in stead of upside-down.

We literally had to put the screen on the desk, and the keyboard where the screen should be against the wall. Keep in mind this is an older model, the screen does not come off.

Don't know what happened, it froze, and TxC' cleaned it w/ a special spray for electronics, suddenly the pic, and all the icons were upside down. Glad it is working right again.

I couldn't operate it standing on my head ... wow!!! Between the earthquake a couple weeks back, and a brief power outage yesterday, things are gettin' a bit wonky weird here.

Jus' Silverwolfi still scratchin' my head over this...

Could someone be playing a joke on you with your computer? Curious, I was, and found that - apparently - this is not unheard of as Google has many links about this very thing - I did not sort through all the links but some appear to be for some other reason, maybe, other than a prank.

One of the links explains how to use certain keys with the arrow keys to flip it right if this happens again.

You might also want to be sure that you clear your cookies / search history each night and sign out before turning off the power to your laptop.

Hello <<<<< Keebler, and Lymetoo >>>>>,

Finally got to look up the upside down computer screen on Google. We still don't know what happened.

I do suspicion, when TxC' sprayed the buttons w/ the electronics cleaner, because the screen had frozen, it might have tripped our down arrow which is broken. But ti is good to know a couple tips to fix it if it occurs again.

It wasn't a prank, as it's just us and the *dog, and he wasn't near the laptop on the desk. *Muad'i is just a little guy,all 13 1/2 lbs. of him.

If it was somehow pranking that would be worrisome, since they'd need to hack us from elsewhere.

Thanks for the replies and info', it gives us a place to look if it does happen again.

The next time you clean your keys and keyboard make sure you shutdown your PC.

Every laptop, pc's etc can do that.

You may have Pressed Ctrl + Alt + ↓-down arrow keys.

If it happens again, which it wont decause you'll be sure to shutdown the PC first! Just do the reverse - Press Ctrl + Alt ↑-arrow keys.

Good luck,
Steve

Hello <<<<< LisaK, and Steve'06 >>>>>,

Lisa, it was skeery, TxC' was like what did I do...? We were both about to go nutso for a bit [not that we have far to go LOL [Smile] ].

Steve',TxC' says: 'Ya know... I think I can actually turn the PC off before cleaning it next time. Don't want that happening again.'

Considering that our down arrow button is broken it could have very easily frozen w/ that spray, and if -ctrl- and -alt which are very close to the -down arrow- froze... well uhm where ever ya go there you'd be upside down [ well the screen would].

Thanks for the replies!
