Thanks to all the veterans who have served for our country!!!

Are you ready to shake and bake? Er, I mean shake and cake? Hmm. That's not right, either. [Big Grin] Are you ready to shake and rake?

Tell us all about your movement this week whether it is raking, walking, power shopping, cleaning etc.

I took another day of rest except to get in the car to go to the gas station. Am hoping to get back to walking tomorrow--if it doesn't snow much.

Have a great week!! [Cool]

My shaking and baking consisted of going to church and then out to lunch.... then down for a nap.

We received one more shoe box today, so that's 348! Hoping to deliver them on Thursday or Friday.

We are supposed to get our first snow tomorrow afternoon. Only 1-2 inches, but that's enough to lock us in on top of this hill.

I guess I'd better go to the store in just a bit.

Our workers are supposed to come on Tuesday, but I'm getting worried about all of that. Have not heard back from our insurance adjuster.

Have a nice evening, everyone!

Good to hear from you, LP! Keep plugging along!! I hope the shoes will help you!

Hope the workers work out I know so many ppl with problems.

We are supposed to have a mixed precipitation tues then snow on thurs. maybe tues will be coming from hikers house

I was slow this morning and had to drive for coffee cuz I ran out. I started working in the yard about noon and stopped for a rest at 330. Then got up and put stuff away before dark.

I planted a rose bush. Pruned a lot of roses and other plants. Cut down 2 small trees with nippers. Brought the sand and salt into carport and moved a lot of stuff so plow guy can do his thing.

I ended up in Wc half way thrunbut I was surprised how much I got done. This is a med skip day and now I take cholestyramine on skip days. Maybe not having meds in gave me the energy

I’m tucked out now in zero gravity chair with Etta asleep on me. I think I ll sleep right here for awhile. See you soon

Thanks for getting us going this week Hiker!

For exercise today I swept, vacuumed, mopped, cleaned 5 ceiling fans and the bathroom.

Still need to polish and clean knick knacks.

Went to the store and bought items to bake a BDay cake for my Mom who's turning 87 tomorrow. So I baked a black oil cake (chocolate) and frosted it with cream cheese icing.

Now I'm vegging!

Hope you feel better soon Hiker and amen to the shout out for veterans!

First snow of the year is never fun for driving, huh TuTu? When I worked in insurance it was always a day chock full of claims work. Glad you enjoyed the new restaurant.

You busted butt today Kayak! Once I get the house spiffed up it'll be time for yard work for me too.
I still have good and bad days also.

See you guys tomorrow!

I’m back. I’m not sure if I should post this here. But can’t find our little group text

I have as having a good day except Etta has been actually nag odd. She has been getting increasingly aggressive about the space she sleeps in and her treats

Twice she has bitten me cuz I moved in my sleep and got too close to her. Once she grabbed my finger and really held on for awhile

Tonight she was very concerned about keeping a biscuit she got from toll lady a few days ago. She growled at me whenever I got near her even tho i was just walking by.

She was sleeping near my feet and had a piece of Busch it near her and i was watching tv. The tv got loud and she bitb3 Pt my ties. She really held on a long time and it was hard for me to get her off. I hadn’t moved at all but I guess she was startled awake and attacked the closest thing

This is wierd for her although it has been increasing in the last few months

I read about treat and space aggression and there are some things I can and will change. But I’ve been doing a lot right

She’s had a bunch of tick bites and there is a thing called Lyme rage. She always tests lneg for Lyme but who knows how good the test is.

Anyway. I’m getting ready for bed knowing I can’t let her in the room and she will probably keep me up all night

And the news comes on. There is a guy with a long gun...whatever that is... that got in some trouble in the Walmart 5 miles away. I don’t know whole story but he ran into the woods a few hours ago and they haven’t found him

And my toe hurts and I’m afraid if I go to doc they will push tetanus shot on me.

I just had to dump. No one else I can tell.

Can dogs get bartonella?

No shots! Maybe your toe got infected from the podiatrist's?

I hope today will be better than yesterday for you!

Oh no. She bit me hard. She hung on. Hard to get her off

But I came here to see if internet is working. I can’t get on Facebook. Anyone else having trouble. I can get on. Just can’t post

lp--Hope your toe is ok. Hope Etta is okay, too.

Went to bookstore to get a calendar for mom. Thought I would be the Christmas rush.

Walked 23 minutes. Very chilly and windy, but I got home before the snow began to fall.

Went to chiropractor to loosen those joints and hopefully release some toxins.

Will venture back outside to drag the garbage can to the curb later.

AK, you and Lp sure got a lot done. Happy Birthday to your mom. Cake sounds great.

I would call the vet and ask a few questions about Etta. That does not sound right.

Made me and Mom gluten free pancakes, eggs and bacon for her BDay breakfast.

Then spent a couple hours cleaning and polishing everything in the livingroom. Didn't realize there were that many knick knacks but the room is definitely ready for the holidays.

My brother and his family minus one daughter came over for cake and ice cream. Josh was sick with either a stomach virus or food poisoning and is down for the count. Poor guy!

My Mom was very happy and ate all her cake and ice cream!

All the hard work was worth her little smiling face!

Hope Etta won't be so bitey Kayak!

Kudos on the 23 Hiker! Thanks for the BDay wishes for my Mom!

Hi TuTu and Manna!

Night friends!

lp--How's Etta. I think Tutu has a good idea of calling the vet.

AK--Your mom is so blessed to have you!

Went to grocery store to get produce.

Went to library and have enough books for a week.

Walked 23 minutes. I seem to be stuck on the number 23. Walked outside in 25 degree weather, but it was sunny and I bundled up well.

Figure I might as well walk outside until it is way too cold, or too windy, or icy. Walking in the rec center gets boring fast.

Congrats on the 23 Hiker! Blessings both ways!

Enjoy the show TuTu!

One load of laundry and made a green bean casserole to take to a Thanksgiving party tonight.

Me, Mom, her BFF and daughter headed out to Ft Benning for the party. As usual I ate too much!

Hope to hit the gym tomorrow.

See everyone tomorrow!

Tutu--I bet the holiday shows are great! Hope those contractors get whipped into shape and finish anything they need to do.

Ran errands this morning.

Beautiful day for a walk--cool but sunny and no wind. Walked 28 minutes (got off that 23 minute rut)

Made a meatloaf to freeze.

Am marinating tilapia now to bake tonight with asparagus and a salad.

Under winter weather advisory. Snow and freezing rain going to move in tonight. Hope it does not cancel Bible study tomorrow, but I expect it will.

The church is out in the country, but this is our last study before Christmas and I am looking forward to it.

Am reading John Grisham's latest novel--pretty good!

The original contractors showed up yesterday to discuss fixing a few things. They decided we would be happier with someone else doing it. (true, how did you guess?)

We were supposed to hear this morning how much they were going to refund us. I'm sure it won't be very much. So now they are supposed to call tomorrow morning.

(OH, and they brought me a new vacuum cleaner since they ruined mine.)

Our friend we wanted to the do the job will do it over starting on Monday. The sheetrock in the ceiling is not right. You can tell TOO EASILY where it was cut and put back together.

We need a good lawyer.

Way to go on the 28 minutes Hiker! Your dinner sounded delish! I had BK chicken nuggets.

Oh no TuTu! Sounds like they did a terrible job! Hope you can get everything fixed correctly.

No exercise today just errands and grocery shopped with Mom for upcoming TDay. Still need twine for the stuffed turkey breast, cranberry sauce and maybe crescent rolls.

See everyone tomorrow!

Is this supposed to be an exercise group? LOL .. I am really failing!

BUT.. I did help deliver our shoeboxes this morning. We take them to another church that is about 2 miles from our church. Then they are shipped to Dallas or Minnesota. I'm not sure which way they are going this year.

Feels good to have it all finished!!

I had surprise snow yesterday when coming back home from my allergist's office in the city. I couldn't believe it was snowing. It was about 28 degrees, but all was well. Lots of traffic kept the road warm.

Went to my special show last night. It was good, but I was not "blown away" .. thankful it didn't snow again!

Got up and shoveled several inches of very heavy snow. Took about 35 minutes to clear the drive and walk. Think I ruined the snow shovel.

Went to Bible study. The country roads were horrible going there, but were clear by the time I came home.

Taking it easy this afternoon. Shoveling introduced me to muscles I have not used in a while.

I’ve been gone awhile. I finished getting stuff put away before snow comes tonight. This morning they said 8”. Just now they changed it to 2 “ because the wind will switch and turn it to rain. That means there will be ice inbeteeen and oak trees still have leaves. So losing power is biggest problem. Winds gusty. I hope it’s not a big deal but glad I am ready

We have sunny cold days all week. I’d like to cut back plants and get rid of leaves but we ll see

Etta kept me up 2 nights barking. Now she sleeps on pillow next to bed or soft blanket at far end of couchbifvwevcrash in living room

I changed a few things with food andvshevseemsccalmerband happier. I think I screwed her up

Today I went to oncologist. I thought I gained 25 lbs of fat but she says it’s fluid and ordered lymphatic massage. But I have to drive 40-60 min to get to it. That will be hard in winter. She says she’s sure my cancer isn’t back and doesn’t want to see me for a year. But she gave me her cell number just in case!?!

I hope she’s right

I’ve been nautious. Not sure why but eye doc suggested pulsing doxy one week on one off. To see if it helps

That’s great about the boxes tutu. Sorry about carpenters tho. I have an online friend having trouble with getting a house built in VA. The has contract. Guy poured foundation wrongbandvrefuse. To fix it. I think she will die from stress before house is built

A K as usual I can’t imagine doing all you do.

Hiker will you go to your parents for thanksgiving?
I’m feeling sad about my kids. One son calls every week to check on me and then calls and tells me about how his car races go. The others very rarely call. All so busy and stressed

I’m really happy they all have jobs and 3 are married and have jobs. But they all have so much stress. So many demands. Idk. I say I miss the old days and get made fun of.

I haven’t gotten a call that my new shoes are ready yet. I hope they will be soon. My back has been spasm ing so bad I can’t walk sometimes

LP .. The weather there is just so nuts! Gotta love the coast! I sure hope it will be OK and you won't lose power.

Glad to hear that you figured out what was wrong with Etta. I hope she continues to be OK.

Keep on keeping on!

Your doctor didn't suggest a water pill for the fluid? Of course, that could be problematic too!!

Went to PT today .. It's finally getting better. I did have to walk stairs last night at the theater. That was NOT fun.

No exercise again but did pick up twine, cranberry sauce and white bread to make bread cubes for stuffing.

My Mom stayed home today so I did some errands and Christmas shopping. So I did manage quite a bit of walking.

I'd be hard pressed to shovel snow now Hiker because of my bad shoulder. Shoveling didn't bother me before Lyme and my accident. It's quite the workout!

Delivering counts as exercise TuTu! I've slacked off on exercising too since I hurt my SI a couple of weeks ago. Hope I survive Saturday's Zumba-thon for cancer. I'm donating $10 and so is my Mom.

So glad that Etta isn't bitey anymore Kayak! We're invited to my brother's for Thanksgiving and found out Monday. My Mom sure is happy. When I lived in AK I was invited for lunch at the senior center every year by an older couple from church that kinda adopted me. They were so kind.

Well, off to bed gang!

Ak--Glad your brother extended a Thanksgiving invitation. Bet your mom will enjoy that and less cooking for you (but fewer delicious leftovers)

Lp and Tutu--What will you do for Thanksgiving?

Quick trip to grocery to grab blueberries that were on sale. Made some more gluten free muffins to take to Mom tomorrow.

Walked 23 minutes but was inside at the rec center. Too icy on the sidewalks here.

More sleet/snow coming tomorrow. Will need get up and get to my folks before that hits. It's only an hour away, but the weather can be totally different there than here. What is snow here, may be freezing rain there.

My brother is driving up from GA and will get in late (with his wife) tomorrow night.

Hoping my friends stops by for her usual Friday night chat.

Need to go throw some items in my suitcase.

Well .. our 22 year tradition is to eat out on Thanksgiving. Some years we have had really nice meals and other years not so.

Because we have so many tourists (yes, even this next week and half-way into Dec) .. there are usually places to eat. I just pray it will be somewhere we don't have to stand in line.

Thanks for reminding me to make reservations!

Did a little yard work today. Put up hoses and covered outdoor faucets. Also sprayed weed killer on dandelions in the yard.

Bought a knee strap/brace for tomorrow's Zumba dance-a-thon.

I'm still baking a Coca-Cola ham, making potato salad and deviled eggs to take to my brother's Hiker I'm also baking a stuffed turkey breast for home. Hope one year not to cook at all!

I'd be thrilled not to cook TuTu! It'd be nice just to watch football or the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and relax!

Well, super tired and calling it a night.

Drove over to my folks and beat the freezing rain.

Been a comedy of errors since I got here. Refrigerator wasn't working. Called maintenance and they brought a new one.

I got vacuum out to clean before the new one went in and vacuum broke.

Internet down most of the day.

Dad and I were going to watch Illini game together and for some reason their senior TV could not get the game.

I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to help remedy everything.

Maybe dinner will be better. LOL

AK .. I hope it goes well!

Hiker .. What a difficult day you had! Hope it gets better soon!

I went to a show I haven't been to in awhile. It was really great. This man was a protege' of Roy Clark's .. so it was bittersweet in some ways.

Then I went to the city for our support group luncheon. I just got home. Stayed until 3:30 then ran a few errands.

My muscles hurt! GRRR

Had sunshine today - snow is melting. Did the laundry and hung it out on the lines. Most of it is dry. Need to put a few pieces in the dryer to finish up.

Went to the thrift store this afternoon and got 3 coats and a jacket. 2 pairs of shoes for my son - he was pleased with them. Found some nice glass cups for the table. Glass breaks so easy with children helping, but I don't like using plastic.

Mixing up the 3rd batch of Make Ahead Butterhorns for Thanksgiving. I like using the bread machine to mix and rise the dough.

Sounds like you are all keeping busy with lots of things!

Wow...you all do so much more than me in a day. My crazy week has continued. Etta has me up all night with a different problem. We got to vet at 11. New vet and side and they were wonderful combo for Etta. She had an intestinal blockage. It might have been tape worms. We won’t know til test comes back. I have to give her a teaspoon of canned pumpkin at each meal to keep her bowels moving. I bought organic with the healthy can. Long story and not sure if this is why it happened but dogs on bravecto can eat fleas when grooming and that can lead to tapeworms.

So nice to have that taken care if and hope I can sleep tonight

I’m reacting to Etta now cuz the side had to really hug Etta to keep her quiet for anal exam and the aide transferredvsweetvscentbonto Etta so now it’s on her hair and I’m reacting to it

It went up to 48 today and we had a lot of melting. I got drive cleared so it won’t glaze over cuz it will be cold again tonight

I smelled ppl with dryer sheets doing laundry and that bothered me too. But I wanted to tell you guys that I think my mcas is going down cuz i night some rugs on sale. Same kind I had before and couldn’t tolerate the rubber backing. And insured them out one day and all can’t smell them at all

Also the couch still has partial cover on it but even when it falls off or I sit on an uncovered space I don’t react so that is really cool

I will watch movies and read books and eat some special foods on thanksgiving. Not turkey tho. And I will pretend it isn’t thanksgiving. I ll pick up phone the night before and say after if kids call but not onThursday. It’s what I have to do now

I honestly cannot believe how much all of you can do. Is it my age?

I did the necessary shovel big but I really am concerned about heart attack now. I’m afraid of falling. There is no way I can afford what it costs for yard help or house help because it has basically doubled in 2 yrs. I hope I can work the snow blower. I really hoped I could stay here and private pay for help. But now idk

Hiker that sounded like a really crazy day. Like someone is playing tricks on you. I hope it straightens out.
