Hey, everyone! I hope you are moving and grooving today!

I'll be back later. Go read LP's message on last week's thread.

Ak--How was the Zumba?

My brother, sister-in-law, and I helped mom and dad with a lot of things--grocery shopping, my SIL mended Dad's shirt. I ordered him a new belt
etc.

Am trying to figure out his new glucose meter. Why the MD had him get such a complicated one at his age, I will never know.

No exercise to speak of and now I am going to indulge in shrimp, cheese, grapes, chocolate---but am skipping the wine tonight.

Have a great week. [Cool]

Thanks TuTu for starting this week's thread!

Caught up on the tail end of last week's thread.

Butterhorns sound delicious Manna!

Glad they found out what's wrong with little Etta Kayak!

Enjoy time with your family Hiker!

I survived Zumba for an hour then had unexpected company from ATL come down so ended my participation early.

I raised $20 for cancer research!

I'm wiped out though because I stayed out until 4:00 a.m.!

See everyone tomorrow!

Hiker .. glad you guys got so many things done for your parents. It's hard work!!

Good job on the fundraising, AK!! No way I could stay up until 4 a.m! .. Well, unless my body said, "I'm not going to allow you to sleep!!" LOL

Went to church today, then lunch, then a three hour nap, which was much needed!!

Stayed home tonight to get the living area ready for more work tomorrow. We are headed to the motel for two nights. So fun.

Then we get to have a new floor put in. PRAY for us! [Smile]

Another day of no exercise, but my brother and I continued helping out Mom and Dad. It took use two hours just to go through papers on Mom's desk and we did not get to the 2 file cabinets at all.

Spent quite a bit of time lining up therapy for each parent. Seems the MD's prescribe but don't follow through with contact to therapist.

Drove home this afternoon, so I can be here for window installation tomorrow and then will go back to my folks Wed.

Tutu--Praying for flooring!!

I made a long post and it disappeared. I’ve been having trouble with diverticulitis sx. So far I’m getting a little better but still not right. I’m needing to take senna tea every day on top of Vit C and 2 kinds of mag plus calm...and I’ve been burping for days. I hardly ever burp.

Etta’s a little better but not right. Her bum is sore so I had to get special cream. She isnt bitingbatvall. I wonder if when I bumped her in the night I hit her tummy where it is sore. I was supposed to hear from the vet today but didn’t do I will call tomorrow

I’m sleeping a lot in between shoveling. And another 6 inches tonight. I can’t find anyone to work.

Hiker you sure have your hands full.

Tutu that was a really nice pic of you on fb

Ak. Again. Can’t believe how much you do.

And please say prayers for mom. Oncologist wants her to have bone scan to see if breast cancer has returned and metatisized to the bones.

She is 91 and not even sure if she wants the scan. She would refuse treatment if cancer was found. I will abide by her decision although I would like her to have the scan because if it isn’t cancer then she won’t worry. She has so much pain in her back.

Spent most of the day setting up a new to me cell phone that my Mom bought me as an early Christmas present. Ordered a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge from Amazon.

My old cell phone will go to my brother I hope.

So....no exercise again!

Hope the flooring job goes smoothly TuTu. Are you guys going to be in a hotel for Thanksgiving?

Wish you're Mom would get the bone scan Hiker. Better to know what's causing her pain.

My posts disappear occasionally too Kayak. I don't miss snow shoveling at all! Take care of your shoulder!

Praying for everyone!

Ak--A new phone is always fun!

lp--hope vet has some encouraging news for Etta.

Busy day. Walked 28 minutes.

While the contractor put in the last 3 windows (well, bow windows will wait until spring), I gassed up the car and went to bank and library. Hope to get storm doors next week or the following week.

When he left I vacuumed the house and remade the bed in the guest room.

Used my new blower to blow leaves out of the garage.

Vaccumed car and washed it at car wash. Used the wand. Still looks dirty, though.

I called Mom's oncologist to find out more details on bone scan--wanted to make sure it could tell difference between arthritis and cancer(mom has terrible arthritis in back, along with healed fractures and compressed worn out discs)

Well, found out Mom has already cancelled her bone scan. Was hoping she would wait until I had all the information, but I won't push it at this time.

Started writing a few Christmas cards.

I should sleep well tonight!

Just errands today and then went to dinner at my friend's Mother's house to celebrate her big 6-0!

Came home around midnight and Josh was here keeping my Mom company and doing homework.

You got tons of stuff done today Hiker! Sure hope your Mom made the right decision in cancelling her bone scan. Sometimes it's hard telling our parents what to do.

Waking up in about 6 hours to start cooking.

See everyone tomorrow!

Walked a little over 20 minutes this morning.

My neighbor brought over his air compressor and we added air to my tires. That man owns every piece of helpful equipment.

Talked to another MD for mom. Got her an appointment at the pain intervention clinic, but it isn't until January. That will just be a consult and then she will have to come back if they decide to do steroid shots.

Drove the hour to get to my folks. Traffic wasn't too bad. Am eating bratwurst and sauerkraut tonight. Yum!

I way overdid the activity yesterday and woke up with a headache. If I nap, I won't sleep well tonight.

Dad and I will watch Illini basketball together tonight. We mute the T.V. and run our own commentary.

Thanks, LP on the comment about my photo. It was a fun day!

Could you try other places for the snow removal, LP?? Looks like you really need help there. Hope the DV clears up soon and that Etta gets better soon.

Hiker .. I sure hope it's not cancer. I know the steroid shots for the back do work for at least 6 months or so. My sis in law got a year out of her first one.

We stayed Monday and Tuesday nights in the motel. Came home today. The ceiling looks pretty amazing .. For now, it's coming out of our own pocket. Sure hope that changes.

They will start the flooring in the living area on Monday...should finish by the end of Tuesday. It SHOULD boost our spirits. We both feel good about the other work though. Thank goodness.

Hubby is working on his room and I'm still resting. I did manage to cook dinner with the air fryer tonight.

I wasnn't feeling well this morning. Praying that the Romaine lettuce doesn't get me. I ate some yesterday at lunch and THEN found out about the e.coli .. I swear they are trying to kill me. Romaine is one of the only lettuces I can eat besides iceberg. Not fond of that one.

Tomorrow we will go out to eat.

AK .. Let me know how you like your new phone.

For exercise today I've done a ton of cooking! Made Coca-Cola ham and sliced it up and it's ready to go. Also made potato salad, deviled eggs and brining the turkey breast overnight.

Making a harvest stuffing so first time I made my own bread cubes. Sauteed the onion, celery and carrot ahead of time so hoping to get the bird stuffed and roasted before we go to my brother's. The turkey and dressing is for me, Mom and Josh so it'll stay home.

Glad the work on the condo is going well TuTu. Josh told me about the romaine and sure hope you'll be OK. So far I like my phone but somehow lost my contacts.

I had pork chops and sauerkraut at my friend's last night Hiker. Glad to hear your Mom has an appointment and hope they can help with her pain. Enjoy watching the game with your Dad!

See you all tomorrow on turkey day!

AK .. I always ask the service people to transfer my contacts. They usually ask about doing it. Do you still have your old phone? Go back and get help.

Hiker .. glad you had a good meal. Ours was so-so. Too many things I can't eat on Thanksgiving. They even had pumpkin cheesecake. No thanks!

Came home and took my comatose nap .. lol

I hope everyone had a blessed day!

Happy thanksgiving everyone! Well, seeing this is the exercise thread, I know I've gained weight and with the amount of leftovers will continue to.

So I need to get on the hamster wheel ASAP!

So glad to hear about holiday blessings.

Planning a rest day tomorrow......hopefully.

Night gang!

Mom decided she wanted to do the bone scan after all. I am glad, but had she kept her initial appointment we would be done today. Now it is Monday.

She was in tears this morning assuming she has bone cancer (I doubt she does) and fretting that she will lose her hair with treatment. I don't think a 91 year old would want to go through chemo and she doesn't seem to understand she can always decline that treatment if she were to have cancer.

So, I drove the hour home a bit frustrated. My dad will go with her to the appointment Monday and I will go with her to follow up with MD.

Walked 22 minutes.

Started to rake and got the front yard done, but then it started pouring rain and is really windy, so quit that job. Back yard may never get done.

Did make sure the snow blower had oil and would start up. One forecast is for 1 inch of snow Sunday night and another is for 3-5 inches. It will be too heavy for my small blower, though, no matter the amount.

Got the Christmas decorations brought up from the basement, but haven't put them out, yet. Probably this weekend or early next week.

Did anyone venture out for shopping this Black Friday? I nixed that idea!

Nope .. Did not go outside.

Hiker .. I am so sorry you have to deal with all of that, but at least you are not still teaching while trying to handle it all.

I hope the scan is CLEAR!!

We are working on getting ready for the flooring people on Monday. I wish they could come tomorrow! We have two of our three rooms ready. The third will be easier once we get the other two done.

Then we can move stuff from the 3rd room into the living area.

It's been rainy and cool all day .. but I stayed inside. Just didn't want to fight traffic. I worked on getting things cleared out.

Hubby has worked really hard. He is off this week and it's great that he has the time now. He went to church this morning to work.

Have a restful weekend, everyone!

Had off from work today, so I got some extra things done at home!

Raked some leaves, did the laundry and hung it out on the lines, will leave it out overnight to dry completely.

Finished repotting the plants I brought inside. Some of the pots were so old they cracked and leaked water. Not so good with hanging baskets.

Hubby helped youngest son rebuild a carburetor for one of his 'fix-it' projects.

Slept 10 hours straight last night and took a nap this afternoon.

Went grocery shopping.

20 minute walk. Gorgeous out today.

Thought about taking leaves but rain and then snow tomorrow. The city’s vacuum truck doesn’t work if leaves are wet. Plus so windy all the ones I raked yesterday have blown all over yard again.

Did one load of laundry.

Watching last Illini football game of the season.

The only thing I did yesterday was go get some generic Allegra to last me until the first of the month. Didn't want to shop on Black Friday.

Today me and Mom ran errands, ate lunch with Josh and we both decorated the house for Christmas.

For exercise I hung the outside lights and wreaths and changed table settings for Christmas.

A happy day!

Thinking about your Mom, Hiker. Hope she's gonna be OK. Kudos on the walking!

Glad your hubby has time off TuTu and you all can tag team the condo issues! Sure hope all goes well!

I have a Christmas project Manna. I saved a purple velour-type sweater of my sister's and am going to make my niece a hobo type bag with mixed fabrics. I used some of it last year and made my nephew some oven mitts.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hiker .. Great job on the sleeping!! I rarely sleep that long, but I do get about 8 hours now and then.

AK . The purse idea for your niece sounds great!

Thanks for your support. I do hope it goes well for us next week. I have not looked in our garage, but I imagine it is full of stuff from the condo by now!!
