2 weeks ago i had this gut pain and diareah.I went to a gastroenterologist.

He lightly put his finger tips on my belly and said it is not diverticulitis.

Then he said ,you have been on to many antibiotics that is the problem ,and may have cdeff.
Let it settle down and come back in 2 weeks .

Cdef test negative.

Yesterday after days and weeks of terrible pain i went to the ER They did a cat scan I had terrible diverticulitis.

Put me on Augmentin, pain and diareah gone after 24 hours.

Almost sent me to the hospital.

That gastroenterologist was so wrong. NOT GOING BACK THERE.

No don’t go back there. But you need to figure out what you can and cannot eat. I have it. And my brother almost died of it last year. He had surgery ... 21 inches. Removed Was on iv abx. Had a bag for 6 months then second surgery. He’s 60. Back to work but he’s the boss. Works short days.

You do not want to go thru this. For me the key is to not get constipated. Different docs say different diets.
Ppl need different diets. So you have to figure it out for yourself

I’m glad you are ok. I am disgusted with most docs these days

How in the world could a doctor ever feel of your stomach and know whether you have diverticulitis?
That's just crazy.

Glad you got a diagnosis. My Mom used to have flare ups and would have to take antibiotics. It's such a painful disease. My MIL has it also.

Wow, putting his fingers on your stomach to test for diverticulitis?!? What a freaking idiot!!! Was he a REAL medical doctor or a WITCH doctor?!?

I'm glad they found out what's going on with you. My Mom had that condition and ditto to what the others are telling you about care.

Thank God you know what's going on Maddog!
