Merry Christmas! If you get some movement going this week, tell us about it!!

Walked 22 minutes. Did 2 rounds of my shoulder PT exercises.

Now, both my shoulders, my elbows, and my left knee are in pain. May need to see orthopedist after the holidays.

Doing 3 loads of laundry today.

Ak--hope you enjoyed time with your friend. It is always too short, isn't it?

Listening to Christmas carols. May flip on the Bears game.

Enjoy the holidays!! [Smile]

Had a great time at lunch with my AK friends who had to leave afterwards continuing their trip south. Probably for the best because I had a little mishap this afternoon.

Note to self: Do not open an oven roasting bag straight out of the oven without oven mitts on.

Yep....chocking up another cooking injury. Badly steam burned left hand to go along with the concussion I gave myself earlier this year.

So while busting butt making roast beef, potatoes, carrots, lima beans, corn on the cob, au jus and rolls I burned myself. Had to eat with my hand in ice water.

Thank God for Josh who after dinner put away all the food, did dishes and went to the drug store and bought me some burn cream and a dark chocolate get well treat.

All without asking!!!

He also said he'll help me tomorrow and on Christmas day. What a blessing he is to me and my Mom.

My niece Jessica cried when she opened her Christmas present tonight and saw the purse. She recognized her Mom's favorite purple sweater material right away. She told me it was the best gift she ever received. I told her I was thinking of her Mom and cried a bit while making it and that went into the purse also.

Well.....that's my holidays so far.

Thanks Hiker for starting us out this Christmas week!

See everyone tomorrow!

[hi]

AK--Now I know why I don't cook that much! Hope your hand heals swiftly.

Did 2 rounds of my shoulder PT.

Drove the hour to my folks. Disappointed that they aren't singing Christmas carols after dinner like they did last year at the retirement center. So much fun.

I will miss church as the service is during dinner time. I would go to midnight mass, but the church is in a crime laden part of town and I don't feel comfortable there that late at night.

Happy Christmas Eve!

AK .. I'm so sorry that you were burned! How awful! Take good care of it and don't hesitate to go to urgent care if you need to.

That is so wonderful that your niece will cherish that purse .. LIKE FOREVER!

We both crashed yesterday after church. My tummy was bothering me after eating lunch out. Neither one of us felt good. Those buffets are hard with all the histamine-laden foods!

I picked up some dressing and some macaroni and cheese for hubby's meal tomorrow to go with the steak. I'm also making Rice Krispie treats and the cherry pie.

hiker .. I hope everything will go well at your parents' house!

HI, KAYAK!!!

Need to leave for Christmas Eve service soon. It's at 5:30 but I have to be there early for choir.

I hope everyone has a great evening and a great Christmas!

Wow, that burn stuff Josh bought me worked wonders! Much better today and one large blister already busted.

So made our usual Christmas eve spread and Josh did all the clean up. We opened our gifts tonight and I got all types of edible treats, incense, lotto tickets and cash.

A wonderful Christmas eve!

Bummer about not singing carols Hiker. I used to love to go caroling back in the day but it seems like that tradition is fading away.

Rice Krispie treats...yum! We're having beef also TuTu and I'm just doing baked potatoes and broccoli and cheese.

Merry Christmas eve!

[group hug]

Got my hair cut today.
Might not seem like exercise but in my mind, it was.
Took great inner strength to not freak out.
Not one of my favorite things.
I might feel like s##t but I look marvelous.

Bartenderbonnie--Merry Christmas. Sometimes I hate sitting in the chair at the salon. The stylist forgets that moving fast bothers me and spins that chair too quickly.

Did one set of PT exercises this morning and opened gifts with my parents.

Will eat in the dining room--prime rib, I think, for noon meal and then snacks and champagne tonight.

Good job, Bonnie!! I know you look great!

AK .. I'm glad the burns are healing up. Keep them clean! Go JOSH!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Hiker .. I should have done prime rib. LOL!! We have some Omaha steaks. Easy peasy.

I'm watching the local TV Christmas show (taped) with many of our entertainers. Our "star" is on there too.

So .. have fun, everybody!

LP .. Hope you are OK!!

I was able to eat half of the prime rib dinner and save the other half for dinner tomorrow night. Large servings. Included peppermint ice cream with hot fudge! (of course, I ate all the ice cream)

Gorgeous outside, so I went for a 30 minute walk.

Then did another round of shoulder PT exercises. Not sure they are helping.

Am debating about a nap. I know if I sleep now, I won't sleep well tonight, but the bed looks so inviting!

Hope the shoulder shapes up soon, hiker!

We stayed inside all day and it's a good thing because I never got out of my pajamas. HA! The truth!

Got everything done today that I wanted to. Fixed dinner and washed dishes. Whoop!

I need to do my hip exercises soon. Gotta keep that up.

Off to acupuncture tomorrow!

Merry Christmas Lymenet family!

[group hug]

Up at 5:00 and showered and got dressed for a busy day.

Roasted a prime rib, airfried potatoes, made broccoli with cheese, horseradish cream, au jus, corn and rolls.

Been there BB! Way to go on getting the haircut!

Had prime rib for late lunch and snacks later also Hiker. I'm envious of your walks!

Looked like a beef day for us TuTu! One of these years I'd like to stay in my jammies on Christmas. After 3 days of cooking wish I could take it easy tomorrow but need to help a friend with her resume.

Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas!

LP said to tell everyone she is OK. Her son is with her and he's fixing the carport.

I hope it will give her some rest to have him around.

Went to the city and even found a few things for OCC at Dollar General. I need to try over here too.

Hubby got his motorcycle moved over here to our subdivision's storage unit. They had one become available last week.

Did one round of PT exercises.

Had a delightful lunch with my 82 year old friend. Baked cod with salad broccoli. I feel so healthy now.

Visited a bit more with my folks and then drove the hour home. Ran to the bank.

Spent an hour talking to my favorite cousin on the phone. I have 9 male cousins and 3 female, so we females bond together!

Up at 7 and put china and crystal glasses away. Went to the bank to open up a Christmas club account.

My friend came over so I could crank out a resume for her and emailed it to a prospective new employer. Hope she gets this new job. It's at the same eye care center where I had my eyelid surgeries.

Was wondering about Kayak TuTu. Thanks for letting us know she's OK. So, getting ready for OCC already? I don't blame you! Lots of after Christmas bargins out there.

I love cod Hiker! Unfortunately I've been staying away from seafood since 2016 when I had a negative reaction to shrimp or scallops. I miss seafood!

See everyone tomorrow!

Slept in today.

Since my shoulder still hurts and has had no improvement after a week of PT and since my elbow is now killing me, I decided to back off the PT and just do the stretches for the shoulder.

Watched a Christmas Hallmark this afternoon. Rainy and windy and I couldn't get up the gumption to go to the grocery store.

Hiker .. that stinks! I went to PT today and my hip was better than it's ever been in the past two months.

I have one more session on Monday, then we'll see.

More water issues... I finally found a detail shop to take a look at my car. It's water-logged for sure after one week of trying to dry it out.

He said it will take at least four days to dry it out in his shop. Oh joy. We will barely get it back in time before we leave for Texas.

We aren't taking that car, but it has to be dry. Now I just pray that the windshield is truly sealed.

More money down the tube.

I'm very grateful to have found the problem before we left town, but mad at the car repair shop for not telling me to contact a detail shop ASAP.

That's all folks!

No exercise today but did 3 loads of laundry.

Be careful with your shoulder Hiker. I blew out my elbow on the same arm with the bad shoulder. Since my shoulder wasn't working correctly put to much stress on my elbow sawing limbs on a tree. Had to have elbow surgery on top of the 2 shoulder surgeries.

Sure hope your windshield is sealed up tight and won't leak anymore TuTu.

Well....off to watch the news.

Went grocery shopping.

No real exercise except stretching of shoulders.

Am working a jigsaw puzzle my brother gave me for Xmas. So addictive.

Off to read for awhile if I can stay away from the puzzle.

I need to get back to doing jigsaw puzzles. I love doing them too!!

I got my Christmas cards finished!!! I figured out how to do Avery labels. So .. no calligraphy this year. I love doing it but now I'm hooked!

It took me only a few hours, as opposed to several days!

It's pretty cold today. I didn't go out. Another day for jammies all day!! [Big Grin]

Now I'm trying to decide whether or not to take my trees down. I usually leave them up, but I may take them down before we go south this time.

Last year, we got sick and the Christmas decorations came down in February!!

AK .. Yes, I DO hope they fixed the windshield correctly!! I won't know until much later!!

Sorry I’ve been mia. I did read everything above and have been texting/ messaging with some of you a little.

I guess you don’t know about my recent distraction. Yesterday morning there were foot prints in the new snow. From my fenced backyard(6’ fence) out thru carport. Like 2’ from door to house. And all the length of drive to road

Big prints. Big man. Looked like he arrived by helicopter(or flying sled?) cuz they appeared in corner of patio but weren’t in yard(cops said he left before it snowed enough to pile up on grass. But it had piled up on patio and drive).

When I saw them I asked neighbor to come look in case there was a reasonable explanation. He’s an engineer with dot so I hoped he would explain it away. He said. Call the cops. This is a big man.

Cops were real busy with accidents and crimes. Little store where I used to live held up at gunpoint. They still haven’t found him. Ice storm so tons of accidents. Dispatch lady said it was probably homeless person getting out of storm. She said they were very busy and had to prioritize dangerous situations where they knew perp was still on scene. She said they would come Asap. I took pics cuz forecast was for melting and rain.

End of day dispatch left nice message. They didn’t forget me. Still out straight. Would be in touch.

So last night I left all my outside lights on. There’s a lot cuz 2 businesses in back and side. And I left all curtains open and all indoor lites off. Except tv for awhile. I sat where I could see most of front and back but didn’t see anything although Etta was quite upset on and off all nite. She gives little yips and runs around with nose I air sniffing. I used to think it was mice or chipmunks or even squirrrls in attic. It never occurred to me it could be a person. She had me up all night with random barking

I’m pretty tuckered out this morning. I know there was a bunch more accidents last night so I probably won’t hear from cops

I think neighbor is coming over to clean my fridge. I spilled coffee in it a month ago and haven’t gotten it cleaned up.

She’s also been asking to borrow money a lot the last few months. She’s a good soul. Buys me milk and eggs every weekend. But does have some issues. I would rather pay her to do something than lend her money. So hope that goes well. I will have to hide in back room paying bills or she will talk more than clean

I have been to Pt for lymph drainage 2x. I am supposed to do exercise 2 x a day. I haven’t managed more than 1x yet. And I am very sore. Takingbmuscle relaxants and realizing I should be icing. She is better than last one and it really is important for me to do this. It can help prevent cancer from popping up again. Also. I have a problem scar. It is very painful when she works on it. She used a piece of jade. It feels like she is slicing me. The goal is to break it up inside. So she is successful but this is no feel good massage. It’s an hour drive each way on
back roads so I will be lucky if I get there 1x a week. There is an incredible bakery next door for motivation!

My shoulder hurts more than ever. But I think this is important to endure and I’m very happy to find someone so competent

A k so sorry about the burn. I like reading about all your adventures and I’m glad your Christmas turned out so well

Tutu. So sorry about carvproblem. My neighbor bought a used Tacoma a year ago. It looks brand new but has been leaking he has taken it back more than once and so far it’s not fixed. And he doesn’t have a garage or carport. Every sunny day he has all doors open and he’s airing it out

I have managed to get a few short walks in and a few trips to beach. I saw the full moon rise. That was cool

Visit with son is hard. I love him so much. We used to have deep talks. Way more than I did with others. But he is changed. Ten yr marriage. Struggle to get his doctorart andvremodle house he bought with wife. Then she divorced him. I think he wanted kids and she didn’t. He’s so quiet now. Hard to communicate. And I hate to say this but he’s very toxic. It’s good he only stays a short time. I cover what I can with washable stuff so as soon as he leaves I start marathon laundry for dayscandvopen all windows with fans blowing out. Even in cold. Who ever thought these were the kinds of issues we would end up dealing with?

My mcas has gone way down since I began isolating. I had gotten so I could tolerate food and smells that used to make me real sick. Butb24 hrs with him here and it’s like I’m starting all over

So odd what is happening to us and this world.

Ok. Enough. I hope I won’t miss a whole week again!

So glad to hear from you Kayak! Those footprints are a scary deal. Hope you have an alarm system. We do but I'd still like to have a dog. Rocky used to be the best alarm system in the world. He very rarely barked and when he did I knew he was hearing something in the yard.

Josh put burglar bars on his house and I'd like to do the same especially in the back of the house. My Mom is adamant that we don't get them. So I'm looking into solar powered motion detector lights.

Hope and pray that you'll be safe!

Hey you guys...I love puzzles too! All kinds of puzzles, word, seek and find computer games, wooden puzzles, etc. When my uncle was here from Okinawa that's something we did as a family.

I know this is an exercise thread but I'm vegging out since the hustle and bustle of the holidays. I'm going to be very, very bad today and go get a pizza and either read or watch more movies.

My weight loss plan has flown out the window!

Have a fantastic gang day!

LP--Glad you have Etta to sound the alarm!

I stayed up late last night to finish the jigsaw puzzle!

Did 2 rounds of shoulder stretches today. Kind of hard to do since my left shoulder is supposed to do the work to stretch the right shoulder and the left shoulder hurts a bit, too.

Walked 23 minutes. First time I have been walking since Christmas day. Hurts shoulder to use trekking poles, but I wanted to get out and move.

Am going to listening to Christmas music again--(12 days of Christmas, right?) while I cook.

Had to laugh at hiker listening to Christmas music because today in a diner, they were still playing Christmas music and I thought it was overkill. LOL. [Big Grin] .. Mainly because we begin Christmas here the first day of November.

LP .. That is scary about the visitor. Stay safe and carry a big stick. Saw a video about pistol packing grannies today and I thought of you. [Big Grin]

Hey .. and my detail guy said when the floorboard gets that wet, it will NEVER dry out on its own. The pad is designed to hold onto water. It really needs to be taken out and dried once they figure out where the leak is.

AK .. Will your mom let you get a dog? Sounds like a plan to me!!

Hiker .. Are you eating more chocolate these days or more oxalates somehow? They hit my shoulders first, then my hips. OUCH.

We're due for lots of rain tomorrow .. then very cold. I'm glad it's in that order because I have New Year's Eve plans!!

My friend and I will be there for hubby's big show Monday night. It will be a three hour show, which follows a big catered BBQ. I don't imagine I'll be eating very much BBQ, but it will all be fun!!

I just hope we don't have an icy hill at any time in the next 3 days. We leave town on Wednesday.

I hope everyone has a great evening!!
