Happy Easter, all! Rejoice! Rejoice!

And we’re off to another week showcasing our exercise, our house work, our gardening and our muscles. [Big Grin]

I’ll post later. I hope everyone has a wonderful week! [Smile]

Evening: I finished my physical therapy exercises. A friend brought over ham and another friend brought over turkey and potatoes. I added a salad and I had a feast.

Happy Resurrection Day to all!!!

When I came to the board about 1 pm, all the posts on this page were from 2004. It was really weird.

I reported it and by the time they checked it, it was straightened out.

I'm not even on drugs!! I swear!!

[Big Grin]

We had a beautiful service today, complete with our usual trumpeter. He got cancer about 6-7 months ago but they think they got it all. We are grateful for that!

We had visitors from PA, MD, WI, MN, MI and TX!!!

My MCAS kicked up really bad yesterday because I missed a dose of my usual meds yesterday morning.

I had severe flushing and also a wonderfully bloated stomach. I think I learned my lesson that one! I had to take benadryl several time and went to Walgreen's between services for more.

I'm hoping to have it under control by tomorrow.

We didn't eat out since I was such a mess. I fixed some chicken thighs for us.

Happy Easter everyone! Me and Mom made it to the Civic Center for the mega Easter Service my brother's church has there every year. My brother plays guitar in the band so my Mom wanted to go.

The service is geared toward a young crowd and we didn't know any of the songs. Also there is a lot of standing during the song service (rock concert) and it's very, very loud.

My poor Mom was not able to stand so long and had to sit down.

We talked to my brother and his family for about 5 minutes and left to run errands.

Hiker thanks for getting us started this week! You had an Easter feast! Josh was sick and didn't come over so me and Mom went to Boston Market for lunch. Later I took a pizza to Josh and watched a sci-fi show he's into.

TuTu that is really freaky about the posts being from 2004! Did you go through a worm hole or something? Your service today sounded wonderful! Oy Vay! My brother's church service is like a rock concert! My Mom was not happy. We're to old fashioned to appreciate all the explosive light shows and sounds.

Have to take my Mom to Emory hospital in Atlanta tomorrow so getting up at 6:00. She has cirrhosis of the liver and is seeing her regular liver doc.

Where's Kayak today?

Anywho...See you all tomorrow!

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

AK, I hope the trip to Atlanta and back was uneventful and that your mother got a good report from the doctor.

I got up pretty early and did my physical therapy exercises. Then I went to physical therapy and did more exercises.

I actually managed to take a shower on my own today and wash my hair. I think I got more water on the floor than anywhere else but it’s progress. I wonder how such a simple task can be so tiring?

Unusually warm here today so expecting some severe storms tonight possibly. Going to spend the rest of the day relaxing and reading.

Hi all! My Mom got a good report on her liver so everything OK, thank God!

Only slept a couple hours last night so I'm wiped out!

Hiker I can't believe you're already showering on your own. How's the pain level?

Trying to unwind after umpteen cups of coffee to keep me going today. Mast cells are not happy with me!

See everyone tomorrow!

LP, hope your appointment went OK today and that the traffic wasn’t bad.

I did my shoulder exercises as usual.

My tummy is upset again today. I’m getting concerned because I am losing a lot of weight even though I am eating healthy.

I am starting to get bored. With the sling I can’t drive so I can’t run my errands. And I can’t get outside to do my planting and weeding so I am a bit frustrated today.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for me and a great day for all of you.

Worked outside yesterday raking and bagging leaves, sticks and weeds. As expected I'm sore today.

Me and Mom going tonight to see a performance of The King and I at the theater. We're very excited!

Hiker sounds like you're getting cabin fever! How many more weeks to go in the sling? 4? Sounds like you're recovering quickly. Worried about the weight loss. Do you think the pain medication is causing the upset stomach? Hope you'll be OK.

Well, off to make some brunch for me and Mom then run her out to Ft. Benning to pick up her meds.

See everyone later!

Ak-have been off narcotic for over a week. Just using Tylenol.

I think it is the vegetarian protein drink causing problems Will eliminate for awhile and see.

I did my first round of physical therapy exercises this morning. Then I went to physical therapy. He mainly spent the time stretching my shoulder out. He still feels I am a bit short in the range of motion of abduction of the shoulder but doing OK into other areas.

I have one more round of therapy exercises to do at home this evening.

I see the surgeon tomorrow. I’m a little nervous about him messing with my shoulder and taking out the stitches even though I know it won’t hurt.

Decided I am not a tech person at all. Spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to link my AT&T account to my DIRECTV account since they are owned by AT&T.

My neighbor brought over some creamy potato soup with bacon in it. I just know I’m gonna love it. She also brought me some dark chocolate. What a kind neighbor!

Off to finish reading a book and then start another one. [Smile]

Hey gang. I had trouble getting on safely since it says that the site is not secured. Hmmm.. I did report it.

I had a mast cell reaction last Saturday and now I'm thinking maybe it's from the steroid shot on Friday. I really don't know, but I shouldn't still be feeling like %$#$.

I put in a call to my allergist but when the nurse called back I missed the call. (of course)

So I have to call again tomorrow.

Went to Bible study today and will go to the city tomorrow for window tinting. I would like to go to a Gospel Show tomorrow afternoon but not sure I will have the energy.

OH.. and I went to a show I had never seen on Monday. It was really cute. It was a 60's show.

Hiker .. I bet you are bored to tears. Thank goodness you love to read! I hope the nausea improves soon. I am having nausea too .. from MCAS stuff. I used to have it all the time.

AK .. The King and I sounds wonderful!!!!

I heard from LP yesterday. Her appointment with the MCAS doctor was successful!!

Had our first meal of asparagus tonight. Yummy!! Will need to dig the weeds out of the patch before they get any bigger.

Dug out a flat of strawberry plants to put them in a new bed. The old one is underneath the electric wires. The birds sit up there and spy out the strawberry patch and peck holes in the berries.

The one peach tree in a pot has blossoms on it - hope the peaches ripen this year. Last year a wind storm blew them off.

Yesterday I put some of the house plants out on the front porch. No frost should reach them on the south facing porch.

Tutu, you have a lot going on. Hope you feel better. I think I would love that 60’s show.

Manname, Asparagus, strawberries, and peaches? Just let me know what the address is! LOL

I went to the surgeons office today. I got the stitches removed from my shoulder and had another x-ray taken to make sure everything was OK. It is.

He showed me pictures of the surgery. Not only did they reattach the tendon to the humerus bone, but they shaved the down part of the scapula and removed some bone spurs and did some general cleanup in the shoulder.

The physicians assistant, whom I saw, said not to worry that I’m not progressing as fast as I would like to with the degree of flexibility in my shoulder.

He said he would rather I show slow improvement and not re-injure the shoulder. He doesn’t want me to fixate on the degrees of flexion or abduction because he said it will just mess with my brain. So true.

I go back to see the physicians assistant in two weeks.

I did my therapy exercises today and rewarded myself with a bit of dark chocolate.

The King and I was fantastic last night! The theatrical version was quite different from the movie and we loved all the songs and dancing!

Today I raked and bagged leaves for 3 1/2 hours! I was still sore from raking and pulling weeds the other day. I expect not to be moving to much tomorrow.

Hiker you have fantastic neighbors! You can't go wrong with potato soup and dark chocolate! Wow! Your surgery sounded more complicated than a simple rotator cuff repair! Glad you're doing so well that you don't need to take any narcotics. That's always a plus!

I didn't realize that you could plant a peach tree in a container Manna. Asparagus and strawberries sound wonderful!

TuTu so steroids could effect mast cells?! I hope you'll be OK. I'm with Hiker in regards to the 60's show! I'd love it!

Well gang, I'm wiped out and am going to try to get some much needed shut eye.

Where has the day gone?

I don’t really feel like I’ve done a whole lot today.

I did manage to wash up some shirts in the washing machine and dry them. I only have three or four oversized shirts that are easy to put on, so I had to get them laundered or I will have nothing to wear tomorrow.

I can’t carry the laundry basket downstairs with my sling, so I just threw the clothes down the stairs and did the laundry. I will get a neighbor this weekend to do all the whites—towels sheets socks etc.

I did my physical therapy exercises at home and went to physical therapy. The therapist said I have made a lot of progress in the past few days. Which means now I have another exercises to do at home. [Big Grin]

It is a sunny but windy day out. A little too cool just sit on the deck and I’m itching to get out in the yard, but that will have to wait. Going to cool down this weekend and at night have lows near freezing.

Am reading a good mystery. Am so glad I love to read or I would be in the nuthouse by now with the shoulder surgery.

AK .. With MCAS you can be allergic to anything at any time. I have seen many posts where someone had a reaction to a specific steroid .. and/or to the shots.

I really didn't think it would happen to me. I still don't know. Thank goodness I took benadryl before the shot too.

I think I need another benadryl tonight.

Hiker .. You are making great progress! Great idea about throwing the clothes downstairs. Whatever works!! [Smile]

The King and I sounds really amazing, AK .. I've never seen a live production of it.

One of my favorite musicals of all time (at least to see live) was The Fantastics. I saw it during college and the actors and vocalists were top notch. College students and faculty members were in it .. and perhaps some from town. I don't remember, but it was memorable.

I went to a big show today that featured about 10 different shows all in one. Hubby's show was first. They were great, but seemed to be gone in a flash! [Wink]

The emcee didn't introduce them, so the star told them who they were at the end. It was odd. I've been to maybe 10 of these shows and had never had that happen. Maybe the emcee was late or something. He was not one of the usual emcees.

The weather is amazing .. but I was inside all day. Our trees have finally leafed out. Almost finished....and almost finished with the tree pollen.

We have 2 peach trees in big pots that came up as volunteers in the garden after throwing the seeds & peelings out.

Last year when I canned some peaches, a lot of the seeds were split open. So I researched how to start peach trees from seed. One way was to put the seeds in moist potting soil in a ziplock bag and refrigerate for 3 -4 months.

So after New Year I opened the bag and they had ALL sprouted! I planted 13 baby peach trees! 8 of them have survived and are at around 6 - 8 inches tall.

I tried the same thing with grape seeds and cherry seeds and apple seeds. Only with these tiny seeds I put them on moist paper towel. I have 5 apple trees and 5 white grapes and 2 concord grapes.

No cherry seeds sprouted. This year I'm going to try more seeds! Its a fun project. The peach seeds came from a tree my grandfather had planted which was even more interesting.

I rested up like crazy yesterday because I'm heading out to battle the leaves and twigs again today. Hoping I can finish the front lawn today. Still doing my therapy every time I need a new leaf bag. [Big Grin]

TuTu, have you had to use an Epi pen yet? I haven't. I have 2 and am going to my allergist the second week in May and will have them order more for me. I use AuviQ pens and since I make under $100,000 a year qualify for their assistance program so my cost is zilch! Yay! I sure hope you feel better soon!

Thanks Manna for the tip on trees! My Mom loves Japanese persimmon and I'm crazy about figs. I'd love to give those a try in a container. Any much needed tips?

Hiker you made me laugh picturing you chucking your clothes down the stairs! Laundry is my least favorite chore because it seems to take forever! I'm so glad to hear that you're recovering so well! Hang in there! Your exile will end before you know it!

Well, off to run some errands with Mom before I start the battle!

[hi]

I don't know anything about either of those trees, AK. Your best bet is to google "How to start Japanese persimmon trees from seed" and read through a couple of the sites it brings up.

Some times some say its to hard or it won't be true to the parent plant or some other negative thing. And then there are others that tell you how in simple easy ways!

It sounds like fun!

I have 3 little pineapple plants from seed. Those I put on a moist paper towel in a ziplock bag and laid it on my west facing kitchen window sill. They take a long time to sprout and grow very slowly.

Doing laundry today but not hanging it out on the line ..... toooo windy! I'd be gathering most of it up from all over the yard!

Hoping it dries off enough to plant potatoes this afternoon.

Manname, what a neat inheritance from your grandfather.

I got outside this morning and managed to fill three of my four birdfeeders. Couldn’t get the last one on the deck because I couldn’t get the birdseed up there or the birdfeeder down. But I saw eight mail goldfinches in the tree out front and on the feeders.

I did my physical therapy exercises.

My BFF brought over some groceries.

It’s raining now so I’m parked in front of the TV watching Chicago Fire. I tape it every week.

We have persimmon trees that grow wild here. We used to have one right next to our RV where we lived for several years. They were pretty tasty.

We also had them in Texas. I'll have to see what a Japanese persimmon looks like.

AK ..I have not had to use an epi. I hope it stays that way. I just picked up two new ones today.

Interesting about the AuviQ. I would definitely qualify. LOL.

I went to the city for my friend's daughter's 9th birthday party. I left the gift on my bar in the kitchen. OOPS. She was not too worried about it.

I bought her a set of Amelia Bedelia books and a few other goodies.

I think I'm headed to bed soon. So tired.

Editing to add ...

https://www.texasgardener.com/pastissues/sepoct05/persimmon.html

I guess it's the same tree.
