Welcome to the exercise thread. Please tell us how you move throughout the day whether it’s cleaning, gardening, walking, biking, cooking etc.

Per usual, I am doing my shoulder exercises today.

I took a short stroll down the street and around my yard. It is gorgeous outside and then going to rain the next five days straight. It does me so good mentally to get outside.

My neighbor Marla came over and did a load of laundry for me today. I was able to fold the clothes and put them away.

I will cook a little bit tonight. I made meatloaf and froze it before my surgery and will add vegetables and salad. I guess you can’t really call that cooking, but I am going to. [Big Grin]

Hope your week is full of movement and any other wonderful activities that come your way! [hi]

Providing food is good, hiker!!!

I'm off to see the show .. Going to try to get more pics with my new camera.

When I saw them play on Friday, I was having trouble managing the camera. I hope I can do better each time!

I haven't done squat today other than go to two church services, lunch and then a nap. Now I'm washing a load of clothes before I head out.

NITE!!

Thanks Hiker for starting the thread this week!

Bet you loved getting some fresh air and sunshine! I'm amazed that you're already cooking. So glad that you're recovering nicely!

TuTu I'm still trying to recover from Saturday's leaf skirmish. Josh kinda chewed me out last night for over doing it. He's probably right. Sigh! So I'm vegging out today until I have to meet the ex to pick up my half of the homeowner's insurance refund.

Beautiful weather here but I'm staying inside and resting.

See everyone later!

AK—I was hoping you were done with your ex and wouldn’t have to see him again. I guess the bonus is money.

I went to physical therapy again today and was tortured on the table getting stretched out. Did my exercises at home.

Very tired today for some reason. Probably because I just don’t sleep well in the recliner like I would in a bed but I can’t seem to lie down with my shoulder in the sling in the bed.

Dreary day here with the rain and clouds and it looks like it’s going to be like this all week. So no getting out in the sunshine today.

Tutu, I hope you are getting a handle on your camera. Always fun to take pictures.

Very boring day here. Rain with some hail and more storms coming later.

I only ventured as far as the mailbox.

I did my shoulder exercises.

Spent time contacting my parents doctors. Trying to figure out why my dad, who is cholesterol is 127, is on a Statin at age 95.

Also trying to figure out why my mother is getting another steroid injection in her back when the last one didn’t help at all. I was told is the patient’s choice. And of course I responded my mother is confused and doesn’t understand. This hospital is just a dang moneymaking pit!

I am getting really bored at home not been able to get out and drive. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for me.

Overdid it in the yard today. Raked and bagged more oak leaves for about 4 hours. Almost done with the front yard. I'm totally wiped out!

Hiker it's frustrating when dealing with elderly parents docs. They seem to always over medicate my Mom. It was almost 90 degrees here today and sunny. Can't believe it's so warm already.

Well, time to rest my poor aching body!

Night all!

Hiker ..That is very sad about your mom and dad. Stay after those doctors.

They tried to put my mother on a statin when her cholesterol was 100. I said NO. (but at least she was under my caretaking completely)

It's so stupid to put anyone on a statin, much less when someone has LOW cholesterol. YOU NEED cholesterol.

AK .. Do you by chance have LIVE OAK trees there? I finally remembered how bad it is in the spring with those trees! We had a HUGE one in our yard in Houston.

We've had tornadoes all around us tonight. Sirens going off .. twice now. The meteorologists have been on TV since about 4 pm. It's now almost 10 pm.

More stuff on the way, but we may be "safe" now. Next is all the flooding.

But .. I DO live on top of a hill.

Good night!!

AK, take it easy on your poor body! Raking is what finally killed off my shoulder.

Tutu, So glad the tornadoes missed you. Lots of flooding around here. My sump pump rarely turns on and it was running continuously last night. More rain coming but sunny right now.

I went to physical therapy this morning. I am making progress in one area where I was lagging, but not making much progress at all in the ability to raise my hand and do the pulleys. Very frustrating.

Feeling toxic again today. Have had what I thought was allergies but now I think it was a sinus infection and the toxins from that make me feel lousy.

I still have a few exercises to do for my shoulder this evening. Some I do twice a day and some I do three times a day and I try to spread them out as much as possible.

I just finished a book on the French alliance during World War II. This was factual about the espionage the French were conducting in conjunction with the British against the Germans.A woman was in charge of this organization and that particularly interested me.

I am now moving on to a lighthearted fiction book.

Rested and ran some errands today. Will try to finish the yard tomorrow.

Bought a pair of gently used Minnetonka fringed, brown suede moccasin booties for $10 at Goodwill. They're so 60's!

TuTu thank goodness you are OK through all that bad weather. Those Midwest tornadoes are very scary! The 2 city trees are regular oak and basically hang over into our fenced front yard. Still trying to get the grass to grow and we have a lawn maintenance company coming out this year to do the weed and feed. So I'm trying to get the leaves out of the way. Thank God I'm almost finished!

Hiker I didn't realize that's how you messed up your shoulder. I try to do small raking movements per my PT's instructions to guard my back. I'm not going to do the back, other side of the house where I park my car or the front beyond the fence. That book you finished sounds exciting! I was reading a collection of sci-fi short stories but I lost interest and didn't finish it which is rare for me.

Well....hopefully will fall asleep soon seeing that it's almost 1:00 a.m. See everyone tomorrow!

AK— sounds like you got a great deal on the mocs. Hope you get that yardwork finished up soon.

For the first time since my shoulder surgery I went someplace else besides the doctors office or Physical Therapy. High excitement! I went to Dollar General with a friend to get a Mother’s Day card. [woohoo]

I’ve done most of my shoulder exercises for the day. Still have some pendulum swings and biceps exercises to do.

It’s raining here for the fourth straight day. Waiting for the storm to pass to go down in my mailbox.

Today started out cloudy & dreary looking. This afternoon the sun came out and we had a lovely rest of the day.

I finished planting red potatoes and started transplanting the strawberry plants - 35 of them so far.

The peas are up! And so are the first potatoes I planted - the ones left from last year that had LONG sprouts on them! Some were at least a foot long!

Finished raking the front yard today and it only took a couple hours. Yay!

Hiker I'm so glad you were able to get out and about! I need to pick up a Mother's day card and 2 graduation cards. Josh is graduating this month and so is a friend's daughter. Can't wait to see Josh walk the walk again! This will be his third higher education graduation. Soon he'll have his specialist degree and we are so proud of him.

Manna you are a gardening machine! I love fresh raw peas. A friend of mine had a greenhouse in AK and we'd be picking and eating. She also had some raised beds chock full of zucchini! Oh....now I'm getting hungry!

See you guys tomorrow!

AK- glad you finished raking. Congrats to Josh.

Manname-What kind of peas are you growing? I like snow peas and sugar snap peas.

Tutu- where are you? How are you?

I went to physical therapy this morning. I still cannot turn my right arm palm up and straighten the elbow. That makes doing the pulley exercises really hard.

So, the therapist really worked on stretching the shoulder and on stretching the elbow. He gave me a couple of extra exercises for the elbow.

The girl who took me to physical therapy is a real sweetie from my Bible study. She said she is having some health problems right now and they don’t know what is causing the issues. So, please say a prayer for Meagan.

I ran into another lady from Bible study at Physical Therapy. She is a bit older and is doing therapy for her hip and back.

I did a load of laundry, shirts and sweats. I put them in a bag and threw the bag downstairs. It was a little bit harder caring the heavy bag upstairs after laundry was done. I think when I do my load of sheets and towels I will ask for help

My red bud tree and my little crab apple tree are in bloom so beautiful. Looks like we get a couple of days without rain and then the rain is moving back all next week.

I’m going to finish up my leisurely fiction book tonight and probably get out another one.

My BFF went to Tennessee for her son‘s college graduation and so I won’t see her until Monday. She has come over every night to hook up my shoulder pads to my ice machine. We always have a nice little talk about our day. I will go into BFF with drawl! LOL

I have only Frosty hull peas this year. Some years I plant sugar peas and snap peas also.

This year I want to try growing some corn for making corn meal. Last year I tried but didn't get it dry enough and it got moldy.

Am doing laundry this evening. Chance of rain overnight and then the sun is supposed to shine tomorrow. So I'll have a couple loads ready to hang out on the line first thing tomorrow.

Saturday.... my day off and it always goes so fast. I always plan more than I can do.:-(

Haven't done much of anything today. Made some phone calls for my Mom's BFF to get her car fixed from the fender bender she had a few days ago.

Went to Josh's this evening for pizza and a movie. I drank some coffee this evening (not a coffee drinker) so I might be up awhile.

Hiker thanks for the congrats for Josh! Sure hope the elbow gets better with the new stretches. Definitely get help with the laundry. You have a wonderful BFF!

Manna you remind me of an acquaintance who would grind wheat kernels to make bread. I bought some every chance I could because it was the best bread I ever had. Good luck with the corn!

Well, think I'll do like you Hiker and start reading a book I bought awhile back. It's a fiction titled, One Hundred Years of Solitude.

See everyone tomorrow!

Went grocery shopping chauffeured by Deb. Was surprised how tiring that little excursion made me feel.

She helped me fill bird feeders and empty dehumidifiers.

Did my pt exercises for shoulder.

Read and watched tv. Stared out the window at the birds feeding at my feeders.

Just another day of rest noshing on leftovers. Am taking my Mom and her BFF to Atlanta tomorrow for a funeral. So decided to relax a little.

I filled up our hummingbird feeders a few weeks ago and we still haven't seen any. So we're looking out our front door too Hiker. Last year we had a lot of wasps and I wonder if they scared off the hummingbirds. I hope not!

Well, off to la la land soon! Night gang!
