Tick Check is where you can see stats for your state. For example...

In Maryland they found 41% of our ticks had 2, 3, 4 or more infections.

And they found 40% of the ticks from Maryland were positive for Bartonella.

And very important, lone state and dog ticks were found to have Lyme disease.

Of course, CDC/IDSA still insists you can't get Lyme from these two ticks (only a deer tick), and you can't get Bartonella from any ticks...

But when was the last time they were right about anything?

Go down till you see the little box where you can pick your state and those stats will come up, IF they've gotten ticks from your state.

I did a quick, ok, not as quick as I'd have liked, check on Bartonella rates in ticks in various states from the Tick Check data base.

Of the 12 state's stats for Bartonella they had online....

Vermont has the highest rate- 47% of their ticks were positive for Bartonella.

Ohio was at the lower end for Bartonella, but still a high number- 27% of their ticks had Bartonella.

California as also at the lower end, but still- a LOT of Bartonella- 28% of ticks infected.

PA came in second for Bartonella- 42% of ticks infected.

Virginia, Maryland and New York tied for 3rd place at 40% infection rate.

Just thought this was interesting...

Thanks. Interesting to see no ehrlichiosis in Illinois. Guess the magical devil brought it to me.

Any time I talk to someone whether it is a friend, or a workman they know of someone who has a tickborne infection.

Wow, my state tested only 35 ticks. At least there is posted: Warning: Low Sample Size

I'm shocked, though, that they were actually allowed to report that even 11% of those 35 ticks had Bb.

The official "state medical board" motto "no lyme here" might have to give way.

Texas... Where I contracted Lyme:

Each tick submitted for testing contributes to the research being conducted here at TickCheck. By keeping records of all the results generated, we have been able to gain valuable insights into disease prevalence and co-infection rates.

The comprehensive testing panel has been especially helpful in contributing to this research by ensuring all diseases and coinfections are accounted for when examining a tick.

Our current research shows that 66% of tick tested are infected with at least one disease causing organism, 41% are co-infected with two or more, 15% carry three or more, and 5% of the ticks tested carry four or more.

Then the bottom portion says there were fewer than 25 ticks available for testing.

At least this shows that dog ticks carry Borrelia. So many news articles say they do not.

Yes, it is a lab people pay to test their ticks, so if no one or only a few from your state have used their services it won't show much, if anything.

They don't want to report when there are low numbers of ticks because it can skew the percentages, so they want at least 25, I believe they said, to list it.

Hiker- there may be some with Ehrlichiosis, but not enough to make their minimum of 25 for percentage purposes.

TuTu- I believe the top portion is for national in general?? Then under your state name are the figures for it. That had me confused, but that is the conclusion I came to, for what it's worth.
