This document was filed nearly two weeks ago, but I didn't succeed in finding it until late last night, even though I had attempted to search for it repeatedly. It is a humdinger. (I would call it a tour de force, but I'm not sure how to spell that term.)

https://www.lymedisease.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Ad-Hoc-Patient-Physician-Coalition-Comments.pdf

As you can see, it is authored by Lorraine Johnson, CEO of the LDO and by Dr. Betty Maloney, MD of ILADS.

This 55 page document is going to cheer you up. Yes, it's long, but it's a delight to read, just knowing that these two extremely capable members of the LDO and ILADS succeeded in completing it just two days before the original deadline of Aug. 10., 2019.

Because the original IDSA's deadline for comments has been extended until Sept. 9, a note on this LDO document indicates that it is subject to further revision.

Enjoy!

PS -- I'm editing to add that other state Lyme disease groups and local area Lyme support groups are encouraged to sign onto it, which will lend it even more credibility and increase its impact.

TX Lyme Mom,

Thanks so much for your post / link. LDO is amazing and so often seeing their work and involvement gives me hope. They really get it and they get it right.

Also appreciate your shortcut, LDO, from having to always type out the full name of this wonderful org. I will surely be adopting that as anyone can just see in the URL, the official name.

A good thing that LDO, as an acronym, is used mostly in various electronic or science terms and as one political group in another country . . . but that's so far out of context for lyme groups that it likely will never cross any minds.

And, along with ILADS, & LDA, LDO just fits, I think.

Thank you, TX Lyme Mom for finding and posting this.

This is an excellent compilation of hard work by LDO. They should be very, very proud and the Lyme community is so very grateful to all of them for their extraordinary efforts. God bless the LDO!

Ann-Ohio,
I believe you are mistaken. Global Lyme Alliance is an entirely different group from the LDO. GLA is located somewhere on the East Coast, and LDO is based in California. The GLA comments were quite good, but the LDO's comments are extremely thorough and comprehensive, totaling 55 pages in very fine font, the equivalent of a document double or triple that in length.

The LDO's comments were authored by a physician member of ILADS together with Lorraine Johnson, an attorney, who is CEO of the LDO. Their comments tear the IDSA's Treatment Guidelines to shreds, chew them up and spit them out.

Here's a link to a brief summary about the seriously flawed IDSA Guidelines which was posted a few days ago on the LDO's website:

Wow! I am in shock!

I've never, ever, ever, ever seen a blooper made by ANN-OH about anything Lyme related. Ever!

And I check things out really throughly too, and I have been watching her do her amazing volunteer work for about 100 years now.

But, even though she got the two documents reversed, she still has a much better record than I do!

I recently made a mistake, my third mistake this year in fact, so I still give Ann-Oh an

A++++

For all she does for us.

(Sorry Ann-OH. You are so so so perfect- always- that I had to laugh when I saw the blooper. So unlike you!!! Please excuse my giggling!)

You are still my hero.

[group hug]
