Happy Groundhog Day! Our groundhogs here in central IL saw their shadows, so 6 more weeks of winter. [Wink]

This is the thread where you report your movements for the week. Walking, laundry, physical therapy, vacuuming etc.

Can't wait to hear about your week! [hi]

I did my final load of laundry for the week this morning.

So nice out that I soaked in the sun with a walk.

Filled my bird feeders. Am not getting many birds and not sure why.

Did my balance exercises. Decided to shun all shoulder exercises until I see the orthopedic MD.

Watched Illini basketball and will probably watch the Super Bowl, although I have no vested interest in either team.

Hi everyone! I've finally come up for air! Celebrated my birthday from the 25th to the 31st! Got home yesterday from ATL. While up there my friend's hubby worked on my little Scion so it's running much better and hopefully will last awhile.

No exercise since the 24th but have danced and danced! I don't need to go out for the rest of the year!

Hiker thanks for getting us started this week! Your shoulder is still hurting? I hope it's OK. Please keep us in the loop!

Josh is coming for dinner. Mom bought a cooked rotisserie chicken and she made a broccoli, cauliflower and carrot medley. I made salad and salad dressing so not a lot of work for me, yay!

Off to veg until dinner!

See everyone tomorrow!

[hi]

Hi everyone!!

My challenge today was standing for long periods of time at church. Did a lot of sitting down.

We tried to go out to eat and gave it up when the wait was going to be too long at the restaurant we chose.

Came home and I fixed pancakes for hubby and eggs for both of us.

Took a short nap, and now watching the Super Bowl. I'm rooting for the Chiefs even though I'm really a Houston Texans fan.

Hiker .. I sure hope your appointment goes well this week.

Good to see you, AK!! We loved our little Scion. I'm glad you got it worked on!

Have a great evening!!

Drove over to my parents for the day.

Worked on clearing mom's desk and filing papers etc.

I know I will get a good meal tonight.

Off to do more work here.

Shoulders particularly bad today. Both hurt to drive the hour. Made an appointment with orthopedic MD for Friday.

As my friend and I always say to things like this:

"CURSE WORDS!!"

Went to Bible study today .. managed to walk upstairs.. It was hard. UGH.

Now I have to prepare for one tomorrow at church. I will be leading that one.

Everyone around here is excited about the KC win. People wearing their gear and talking about what a great game it was.

Big parade in KC on Wednesday, but it's supposed to start snowing Tues night.

We probably still won't get much here.

I'm going to count watching the Superbowl as exercise yesterday! I did so much hooping and hollering not to mention all the jumping off the couch and jumping up and down! No wonder my Mom tells me to go watch football elsewhere!

What a game! My Dad was from Missouri and I have tons of family there so was rooting for the Chiefs.

OK...So my back was kinda bothering me a bit but now it's really tweaked so no exercise today.

Did make the singer/songwriter competition tonight and instead of drinking alcohol found out they have coffee there so had two cups. Great tasting too!

Hiker I didn't know both of your shoulders are hurting! Let us know what the ortho doc says!

TuTu I would so be at that parade! Don't know if KC won the last time they were there 50 years ago but it was incredibly awesome that they won!

Off to read and hoping the Advil kicks in soon!

Just doing my at home PT for my SI joint. Other than that just sitting around and getting ready to watch the movie '12 Years a Slave' with Mom.

Tonight we're heading to the Coca Cola Space Science Center for a performance by the local university's school of music and also a visual performance on the planetarium dome. It's one of my favorite things to do!

So...I'm just being a slug today! [Big Grin]

See everyone tomorrow!

AK--Your evening of music and the planetarium sounds wonderful.

Drove the hour back from my parents. It is 30 degrees cooler today than yesterday and windy. Winter has returned.

Did my balance exercises.

Went to the chiropractor.

Cannot get motivated to go run errands or to the rec center to walk.

I spent an hour outside cutting up cardboard the metal tables I’m using for cabinets came in and stuffing it in recycling bin. I also bagged up the packing materials and put in trash. I painted two more 2’ wide Stripes of kitchen floor. I’m painting it in 2’ stripes so I can still get into kitchen when it dries. I’m surprised I found a floor paint that doesn’t bother my mcs

My shoulder and other muscles are extra sore now but it makes sense from what I am doing

We keep missing big snow storms and so much is melting I can see a bunch of grass. Almost spring?!?

I went grocery shopping.

Quick trip to library. They had free coffee today so I took advantage of that while I was there. Decaf for me.

Walked 20 minutes through snowflakes.

Snow really coming down now. Expecting 4-6 inches.

Hoping I can get to Bible study in the countryside tomorrow morning.

Just my at home PT today and decided to go shopping. Stopped at a couple of stores that have used stereo equipment, looking for a receiver. No real luck so bought a Sony receiver from Amazon. It'll be here by Friday so I'll hook up my used Sony turntable that I bought a couple of months ago. I don't have speakers but the new receiver has the older phono jacks and is Bluetooth capable so I might be able to use my TV speaker system. Wish me luck!

Hiker kudos for walking in the snow! You and I are on the same page where the library is concerned! I'm heading there tomorrow for a flute and drum concert of Native American music.

Kayak you sure are busy! Might be time for Advil, Tylenol or something!

Well...off to read!

Hubby, Sonny & I had chiropractor appointments yesterday. Took it easy the rest of the day.

Its cloudy and drizzly today. Hubby is complaining he hurts.

I'm planning to do some sewing this afternoon.

My vehicle has a brake line leak. The boys are working at fixing it this afternoon. Need to go for parts.

Builder was supposed to be here early but canceled cuz of 2” of snow. Grrrrr!

I ended up moving cook stove and large metal table so I could paint a section of floor. It stinks worse than before. I heat house up to 80 to make it off gas then use exhaust fans for an hour and repeat. It’s usually reasonable in 24 hrs but might take longer this time cuz we have high humidity and freezing rain til midnight.

I also shoveled half the drive so I can get car out. I have to go out again soon to finish. It’s going to warm up and rain do I hope it all washes away by morning

I napped too cuz I didn’t get much sleep last night because I was clearing kitchen for worker. I hope he gets here soon so I can get my kitchen back together. I’ve been buying too much takeout with no kitchen.

AK you are so good at so many things. I wouldn’t know how to buy separate parts and put them together like that.

Manna--Sounds like your boys are skilled at fixing things. That is great!

Went to Bible study this morning. Very slick out with the snow and ice and I was thankful a friend took me and 2 others in her van. Also thankful I was sitting in the back seat as she was driving fast on the icy country roads. [Eek!]

I did my balance exercises this afternoon.

See orthopedic MD tomorrow. Praying my surgical shoulder just has tendonitis and nothing that would require more surgery.

Saw orthopedic MD this morning. Left shoulder has tendonitis and my right shoulder (had surgery on it in April) is bad enough that he wants an MRI. So, hopefully I can get that done next week.

He did say my range of motion was still very good and rotator cuff strength was great. He was concerned about biceps tendon, though, and a tear elsewhere in shoulder.

On a positive note I was able to walk 20 minutes without my trekking poles. Granted it was on an inside tract at the "senior citizens" center, but am happy I could do that.

Went to the library again to pick up books on hold.

Friend coming over tonight. Probably watch some Illini basketball and part of Democratic debate.

Have a good Friday evening.

I bet I can’t stay awake for debate. My son is supposed to call soon to help me do taxes.

I shoveled more than I planned today. They kept saying it would rain a lot and I counted on it washing away snow but it didnt. Half the time my shovel had a bunch of water running off it. Very heavy stuff. I have only a skinny drive clear. And now it’s snowing hard and deep freeze coming. They saidc3-5”.

Enjoy your friend Ann. I hope there will be an easy answer for the shoulders.

I workers put in a large piece of counter top and made a huge mess in my house and carport. I can’t deal with it til tomorrow.

Sleep and taxes for tonight.

PRAYING for no more surgery, Ann!! GAG .. NO!!!

Great job, LP and AK!! You two are moving on!!

My computer crashed a few days ago .. so I finally got it back today. The guy smokes like fiend, so it stinks. He worked on it in his apartment.

I just pray to survive it. There's fragrance involved too.

The weather is OK .. never got any snow to speak of. It will be in the 40's most of the next 7 days.

Just my SI joint exercises today. Ran errands and dropped my 15 year old niece off at church today.

My stereo receiver came early and so I've been dinking around with it and am not able to hook it up to my TV sound bar and subwoofer. Also wasn't able to pair it via bluetooth with a portable speaker that I have.

So will hit the flea markets and pawn shops to look for some speakers.

Manna I thought about cutting out my dress pattern and reading the instructions but my receiver came early so I got sidetracked. Thank God your boys are handy! I've had to put brakes shoes on but never did a brake line.

Kayak thanks for the compliment! I've had to learn how to do a lot of things to take care of myself. Also growing up I was my Dad's 'tool girl' when he worked on our cars. Must have inherited his handiness. BTW, loved the counter!

Hiker that is some shocking news! I hope and pray that you don't have to have an additional surgery. Once is bad enough! Hang in there my friend!

TuTu can you air out your computer? Do you have an ozone machine? Cigarette smoke is one of the chemicals I have pretty bad problems with. Whenever I'm in a smoky environment I have to air out my coats and wash my clothes. I leave them outside and don't bring them in the house. Also I have to take Benadryl and use Nasalcrom. Ugh!

Well, off to watch some TV. See you all tomorrow!

[hi]

My hubby was a mechanic so he can tell the boys what to do. Sonny is the one with the greatest mechanical skills. I am very thankful they can do repairs. It saves a lot of money that would go to the garage man.

AK, tomorrow's another day! Maybe you'll have time then to start your dress. I have a flannel dress cut for myself. Thought it would be nice & warm for winter. I always hope to sew on Saturday's but usually end up doing 101 other things!

Manna and AK--I have sewing envy. [Big Grin]

I made a big pot of spaghetti sauce this morning and did 2 loads of laundry.

Went for a short walk outside this afternoon but as the snow got heavier I headed home before the cement got slick.

I did my balance exercises.

Worked some on my income tax. Waiting for one more form to come.

Time to relax a bit.

I actually got to do some sewing today!! Finished up two child sized fleece blankets. One side is pieced with 6" squares and the other side is a solid piece of fleece. I plan to sell them for extra income.

Had sunshine and a good breeze today - and cold! 38 degrees this AM. Hung the laundry out to dry. Towels were nice and soft as if they'd been in the dryer. That means it was windy!

Hubby added the syrup from a gallon of peaches to his batch of peach wine. Also made the next batch of kombucha. This time its flavored with cinnamon/ mint tea bags and the other is raspberry tea. He likes to use fruit flavored tea to flavor it. Black cherry is always good!

Hubby is doing his Epsom salt foot soak. I should go get something out of the freezer to make for lunch tomorrow. My turn to cook.

Usual SI joint exercises and went to a luncheon. No real exercise today.

Should have started my sewing project but decided to bleach my hair. Note to self-Google or YouTube how to bleach dark hair so it doesn't come out orange.

Yep, just call me carrot top! Have to make an emergency run back to Sally's Beauty Supply in the morning. What was I thinking?!

Manna having mechanics in the family is a real blessing! That flannel dress project sounds great! I bought an oversized, long sweatshirt dress with pockets that I just love!

Hiker that spaghetti sauce sounds delicious! What do you use for noodles? Our local Sams/Costco sells family sized bags of frozen riced cauliflower, zucchini spirals and squash spirals. Josh and I are both cutting carbs.

See everyone tomorrow!
