I recently found out that I have low potassium levels, and was wondering if anyone else has this? If so, what do you do to raise it?

I'm not sure what my level was, but my dr. told me to eat more potassium (bananas, and other food), and if it doesn't improve, we'll have to do something else.

You can get a Rx potassium supplement.

Just have to be careful with it and drink lots of water.

Yep, it's been a problem for me as well. It's one of the things they found while I was in the ER when really sick and not knowing what was wrong with me.

I was just told to eat more potassium and it never seemed to help, so at one point one of my doctors prescribed potassium. Didn't help my symptoms at all, but did raise my potassium only slightly. It's still usually on the low side. Not sure why or what causes it to get low.

Mine was on the low side when I went to the ER last month. Hmmm... we always hear about low Mg levels and Lyme, but what causes the low K? That's the only reason I haven't tried salt/c yet.

Take care,
Ocean

My daughter has been hospitalized 3 times in the past month. First 3 days started with respiratory distress and very high heart rate.

Once at the hospital they discovered she was in diabetic Keto acidosis and was extremely low in potassium. They gave her pills while she was in ICU.

WE left with no great follow up suggestions, only eat foods high in potassium..good luck lmt
