Strange honeycomb patterned rash all over
Hi all, My family has been fighting lyme disease and coinfections for about 10 years now. I have a bright pink and white "rash" all over that looks like a 1/2in honeycomb pattern. The back of my legs dont have the pattern, but they are just bright red. My 3 year old has the "honeycomb rash" if thats is what i can call it right now, as does my 5 year old. They have a fine "rash" on their backs, also that are like goosebumps. My sister in law has the patterning also. We don't live close enough that we would have passed something to her. She is seeing a LLMD now in PA.

any info would be greatly appreciated.

If I am understanding your description correctly, it sounds like what some call "chicken-wire rash," which describes the same shape and pattern as a honeycomb.

You might want to add this to your description, or search this site for mention of chicken wire rash.

If I am not mistaken, this seems to come up frequently in Bartonella cases, which present all manner of odd skin manifestations.

Bartonella is a frequent co-infection that people become infected with when they are bitten by ticks or fleas. It is rare to just have one tick-borne infection when you have been bitten by a tick - they generally carry and transmit more than one infection at a time.

Hopefully someone will answer your question more adequately, but I hope that helps.

I had two small circular honeycombs on my chest. "Looked like where the aliens put their suckers to .... [Wink] "

Turned out to be yeast rash. They were only size of a dime.

Dermatologist rxd a med. Cleared in a week.

The honeycomb shape rash or "chicken wire" rash is Bartonella, according to Dr. S's bartonella book. There are several good pics of this in the book, if you want to make a $50 investment.

Are you hitting the Bart with antibiotics?
