So...this started about 3 days ago. First the right side and now both.
I have little horizontal cracks / splits right at the corners of my mouth. It isn't a cold sore..they are pretty small. I can ignore but they are there.
Is this from bart, lyme & co?
Or from Rifampin? (I started 2 1/2 weeks ago)
I know Rifampin can cause liver issues and my LLMD said to be sure to take a B Complex (I do.)
I've also read that Vit B diffieciency can cause the cracked lips. Connection?
I get my CBC bloodwork on Friday.

Okay..I see from google this is called "Angular Cheilitis" and the cuase can be
-Candida / Fungus (could be, but tounge looks clear)
-Vitamin B or Iron defficiency (could be due to Rifampin)
hmmmmm...

Or... is it getting colder out and we all need to keep protection on our lips?
Is everything that happens in our bodies related to lyme or life??
I chose to think that I'm aging and my body will have things be different whether I have lyme or not.
Just my opinion.

Cracked corners of the mouth is not due to aging. I had it really bad in middle school and into high school.
It can be B deficiency or iron deficiency as mentioned above.

So let's blame lyme for the vit deficiency.

Or the Rifampin I just started. Doc said it can affect liver and I should take B vitamins. Coincidence?

I get that when I am dehydrated and when the weather turns cold and windy - with or without lyme.
