THe theory is the Bb will hang out in an area of low PH inside the cell, where the Biaxin isn't effective. Taking it with Amantadine or Plaquenil raises cellular PH and prevents the low pH pockets so ther eis no place for the lyme to hide.

yep.. it was my best drug for Lyme

It's usually paired with plaquenil but my stomach couldn't handle it.

I agree. My stomach hates Plaquenil too Lymetoo!

b/c it only kills one- the cell-wall deficient form- of the 3 (possibly 4 if you include "biofilm") morphs of the Bb bacterium.

You're the first person I've ever heard say that! Thanks for making me feel less nuts! [Razz]

I have been on brain with amantadine and without. My current llmd (very well known) says it kills intracellular bugs on its own.

I know most doctors put people on many less to be more effective and attack every form. Some people like me however have such massive cytokine reactions and impaired detox so there doctor only uses one med at a time to help prevent this way.

If your body can't handle all of the mess you will not improve. I do not know your story but this may also be why.

Take care, Lindz

I do think I also took flagyl and sometimes tinidazole with it.. Not sure how much of the time I did that.

I know I took way more flagyl than I ever wanted to!!

I have 3 yrs of my protocol all written down.. but not sure where I put my notebooks!

Lymetoo,
If you find it, would you mind sharing a little of it with us? I'd love to know what made you "well." I wanna be where you're at right now!
