I have Lyme, Mycoplasma, Bart, Babs and have been diagnosed with PSVT cardiac arrythmia. Once I needed adenosine to stabilize the rhythm, but usually it occurs in short runs and quickly corrects itself.
Seems to be positional (happens when I lay on left side) and vagal related (swallowing food, digestion is a trigger).
My cardiologist suggested I might get an ablation to correct the problem as many young men like myself (late 30's) have no problem with the procedure and never have it again.
I am convinced this was brought on by Lyme. Other cardiac tests normal.
I have treated Lyme and Co with Doxy, Zith, Rifampin, Cipro and this came on BEFORE treatment and has not improved with treatment.
I have yet to treat babesia and that is my last step in Lyme treatment. My symptoms are much better, but the irregular heartbeat that comes and goes is one thing that has not improved.
My question is whether I should treat the babesia and see if the irregular heartbeat goes away, or maybe add in more lyme treatment (I never did IV) to see if this works.
OR
Just get the ablation. I have a friend who did it and he never had a problem again.
Curious how many of you have gotten over irregular rhythms with lyme treatment.

Hello fellow sufferer! I have a lot of vagus nerve problems as well (digestion, ugh, it's a horror sometimes) and they too get worse when I lie on the left side...how odd!!
I have Lyme, myco, and bartonella. But unlike you, my arrthymia HAS gotten better on antibiotics. The first time it went away with just Doxycycline. Then I had to stop treatment because of other medical conditions and everything came back...including the heart symtoms. The second time I treated with Rifampin, a couple weeks of Doxy (too strong!) and Zithro, and as of now I barely have any arrhythmia whatsoever.
If you have babesia you MUST treat it, especially if the other treatments didn't work. There's nothing that says the infections couldn't have done permanent damage, but if it were me I'd try treatment first...then again I might be biased since treatment has worked in my case.

I would try babesia treatment first since babesia causes many heart problems.... HOWEVER.... my worst herxes were on babs meds and I had to go to the ER with heart symptoms when I treated for babs.
So MAYBE the ablation would be a good idea. Personally, I am afraid of making matters WORSE with an ablation.
I have A-fib which did not show up until several years after successful Lyme and babesia treatment. I am way older than you and my mother also had A-fib .. so I don't think my A-fib is directly related to TBD's.
It is possible that mine showed up "early" due to having had the TBD's though.
I hope you are able to make a decision you are comfortable with.

Take tons of magnesium and it makes no difference. Even IV cocktail, nothing.
My question is whether abx treatment cures arrhythmia and if others out there found that it has.
Wondering whether I should have done IV, but it's probably very late in the game for that as many symptoms are gone but the arrhythmia, GI symptoms, occasional headache, some twitching are what remains.

I've had 4 cardiac ablations. They are pretty easy...There is no pain involved and it doesn't make your heart beat any differently, except the PSVT is gone.
I have had adenosine twice, when my rate was over 200 bpm and in sustained supraventricular tachycardia. The longer I allowed my PSVT to go on without ablations, the longer and more frequent the runs became.
Lyme, bartonella, and babesia treatment did not have any effect on decreasing my SVT. However, I had to have multiple ablations since I had an underlying conduction abnormality. Most people will only need one to correct the arrhythmia.
