I sure hope not with all the people taking B-12 or getting the shots.

You have no choice but to supplement B12. Yes, until you get treated with abx, the spirochetes will eat your B12, but without B12, you'll have super anxiety and you have to be able to function normally.

It's a double edged sword with some supplements.

Some say to avoid oral magnesium because it feeds Lyme/Bart/Biofilms

The reality is you will die of a heart attack due to mag deficiency before Lyme gets you.

And B-12 is important for repairing nerve damage among other things.

I say supplement away

Remember the difference b/t METHYL B-12 (CH3 molecular group attached) and regular. The former has more "protection power".

Even though Cane likes Miami (arugh), I absolutely agree on that issue- "supplement away"! The bugs will take it from you either way b/c of their high nutritional requirements (ever checked out the petri dish medium required to culture Bb? Wowzahs. It contains a LOT of stuff.)

But OUR OWN BODIES can't function w/out our vitamins and minerals either!

Let me guess - you're a VT Hokie?

Over 300 enzymes in the body require magnesium to function correctly. The nervous and musculo-skeletal systems also rely heavily on magnesium for proper function (the heart and blood vessels are muscles...).

The body cannot make and keep its myelin sheath (protective coating around nerves - damage or loss of myelin sheath = MS symptoms) without B12. Also, the body cannot make red blood cells without B12.

Therefore, I choose to supplement B12 & magnesium...

I'm a vegan and I have gone months without taking B-12, no difference in Lyme at all.

While overdosing vitamins and minerals might not be a good idea, with something that lasts like Lyme, you can't spend 5 years avoiding all vitamins and minerals.

I'm sure everyone is different but I feel better on B-12 shots. If I don't take magnesium my heart rhythm gets all out of wack. So I pretty much have to take it.

I quit supplementing about 6 weeks ago and see no difference.
I was just thinking last night that I should get back into the magnesium and B12 (at least) but this post makes me wonder if it really matters.

I just feel overwhelmed with my own efforts - At one point I was swallowing 30 supplements a day and got to the point of gagging.
