Many of the above are familiar.

When I first became ill, I started having uncharacteristic panic attacks related to making eye contact with some people. I have always had easy sociability and it became a big problem.

I am normally much better in that respect now, but certain people who use their eyes in a particular way can still set it off.

Inability to drink any alcohol--none. One ounce would last in my system for hours, as if I had been binge drinking. And costochondritis.

Being completely "locked in" my body. My eyes close, my mouth won't open, I can't make any noise or move one muscle. It sometimes lasts for a half-hour! I look asleep, but I'm screaming to get out inside. That's babesia. I don't get this symptom very often anymore since I started to treat.

Posted by kd888 (Member # 29652) on :

Oh yes !! I totally had the 'locked up' feeling.

One of my early symptoms. It would happen if I fell asleep during the day-- for a nap. I would wake up unable to move, fists + teeth clenched, body rigid. Actually couldn't even 'wake up'.

Then I would panic and leap off the couch-- walk around like a crazy person trying to shake off the sensation. SOOOOO weird!

Also felt like my body was burnt to a crisp on the inside-- like nerves were fried.

First round on ABX took care of those symptoms-- and they have not returned.

The feeling that my whole body from Head to Toes is plugged into an electric socket and my legs and arms twitching like there are aliens in my body. I cant seem to get rid of the nerve symptoms. Are they damaged beyond repair????

Losing the color vision in one eye for a half hour--everything was black and white.

Also, I have weird vision issues--just like inability to focus, hard to describe it--that resolve when I close my left (bad, lazy) eye. It seems the problems resolve when my left eye isn't open messing things up.

When I digest, the right side of my face, my tongue, and my legs go numb, and I temporarily can't swallow, sometimes can't inhale either. Autonomic neuropathy. Slowly getting better...

I could fill up this whole space with strange symptoms, but one that I'm experiencing today is as if someone/something is pushing in on the center of my chest ( I think the sternum area)

Not fun! Still debate whether this is lyme, babesisa, or neither!

Rash that disappears as quickly as it pops out...covers entire inside of right arm. Same with lymph nodes.

The worst is the feeling of pressure that I will get when I have to do tasks that require the least bit of concentration. I feel like my head is going to explode from the pressure.

And the "depersonalization" symptoms are the most difficult for me to deal with.

When I had lyme, my strangest symptom was the feeling of having patches of sunburn that moved around my body from one location to another, constantly moving.

This would only happen when I went to bed at night. I figured it was my personal LSD trip, and I didn't need the LSD. I could just lay there and be entertained.

At the time, my diagnosis was menopause. So, I thought this was a wild menopause!

Looking right at an object knowing in my brain it is there but being completely unable to see the object until I walk into it or it runs into me... I can't drive a car at all or walk across a street alone because of this - it is just plain way too dangerous!!!

so far
i have the feelings like a allergic reaction, my face flushes and my whole body itches and if my wife leaves me alone I will scratch so hard i draw blood. I am allergic to alleve and i get the same response. I have not even started any new meds. even the insides of my ears itch. When it happens I scratch like hell, the only way to relieve it is a cold shower.

When I lie down and kick my feet up (if my feet aren't grounded) I get a quick feeling like Im falling backward off of something. Of course Im not. I have to sit up really quick to make it go away. Think its Babs weird dizzy type symptom.

All mine are strange, but most recent... I woke up this past Sunday and can no longer taste. It's just gone. But I CAN still smell. It's kinda freakin me out. Mostly cause I wonder ~ what the hell is next?

I also have had lots of strange things but I think the weirdest of them all was the feeling like cold water was dripping down my leg, mostly the right leg. I find myself reaching to wipe it off but of course there is nothing there.

I can relate to a lot of what was mentioned above. Funny how I would have some symptoms and think they were just normal for me!

Anyway...my strangest one is smelling things that aren't there and hearing people call my name. At one point last year, I thought I had schizophrenia.

My feet are often a bluish gray color, they look like creepy zombie feet. It grosses my sister out (and probably others too). I wear socks so I don't have to look at them.
