I cannot believe it! Since I added the Rifampin, I am amazingly better...I have had a surge of energy and feel like myself again !!! This has to be the problem ! Bart was holding me back. I am so thankful to God for pulling me out of the past couple months.

I was a wreck and losing hope. Now I have hope again. Miniscule head pressure, no crushing fatigue and a pretty darned clear mind. God is so good !!

Tuesday and Wednesday worked all day, then went to the pool with my babygirl without a problem. Today I worked all day and just got home from Target AND the mall. Shopped and didn't feel like dropping, I am savoring every moment of this.

Thank you Jesus !

Very Happy for you!!

I had been diagnosed with Lyme and babesia. With treatment for them for about 1.5 yrs I would say I got back to 75-80%.

6 weeks ago I started seeing blood in my urine. My llmd and urologist added levaquin thinking I had a prostate infection.

5 days after adding the levaquin I felt great!! No headaches, stiff neck, heart racing at all. Fatigue and brain fog reduced greatly. Then over the next 3 weeks things got to the point where I felt 100%. It was amazing.

After a month on the levaquin they stopped it because they thought the prostate infection was under control (if i ever had one). 7 days after stopping the levaquin all my symptoms came back.

So my llmd thinks Bart has been the missing piece and we are going to treat that now.

I am excited for you and myself that treating bart may be it!

Awesome!

The mind is a terrible thing to lose, Rifampin is the drug that attacked Bart and got it back for me. Onto Babs now...

THIS ROCKS!!! I have been in Babesia treatment and now my Bart symptoms seem to have came forward indicating that babs is down...I hope. Bactrim seems to be helping as I cannot take Rifampin yet but know that will help a great deal!

Sometimes I wonder if im done treating Babs and just associate Bart symptoms with Bab symptoms making me confused.

flutterby,

Don't want to burst your bubble, but you need to be aware that rifampin lowers the dose of malarone significantly -- can't remember the exact stats.

Look it up at drugs.com under interactions.

Hubby tried adding in rifampin last winter and couldn't take it because it lowered the blood levels of his babs meds too much. He could tell the difference in just a couple of days and ended up stopping the rifampin in less than a week.

This is one of the reasons many docs don't treat babs and bart at the same time -- rifampin interferes with the blood levels of many meds and it is hard to find combos that remain effective for both infections plus lyme.

Thanks Bea, I am aware and that the reason I stopped the Rifampin last year. I see a top notch LLMD. He is aware of this and assured me we will increase the malerone as needed. I was on Bactrim but I developed an allergy.

I am on Rif for a 3 day pulse for the forth week. Right now just feel more tired. I woke up tired and thought why and remembered this is day two of the weekly 3 day pulse. So actually I am sensing the cause and effect.

Had another Glut IV on Monday and felt great for two days. Slept very soundly Monday night.

All the Best, MattH
