My friend just called me and told me that she was bitten by a tick. She does not have health insurance. I gave her lots of advice and she will see her primary care doc today and it looks like he will give her a script for doxy, we hope.

I'm concerned about babesia and I'm rusty. Do folks take artemesia with doxy?

Would appreciate any input and suggestions. She has limited funds and was just bitten most probably yesterday as the tick was on her this morning engorged.

Any other things she should do assuming she gets the doxy. I told her to be sure to get on probiotics.

Much thanks.

Yes, I use Dr. Zhang's artemesia and know it helps.

Hi thanks,

She did manage to get some doxy for at least a month at a good dosage.

What is the sida acuta and cryptolepsis for? Does it hit babs and do you know if you can take artemesia with doxy?

Is Allergy Research Group still a good brand of Artemesia or are there other brands now that are better?

Thanks a bunch! [group hug]

I take it with doxy. Most dr's pulse it because there is something that happens in your body and you develop resistance to it (don't really remember my LLMD's explanation), so you cannot take it EVERY day all the time, I have heard many different ways of pulsing.

Larae30-- thanks you so much for confirming that one can take doxy and artemesia together. I was pretty sure that one could but, as I said, I'm a bit rusty.

Dr Z is the puriest. His Art-2 is strongest. With Art if you get ear pain, you have to drop the dose.

I would also be concerned with Bartonella.

Yes I know bart is a concern and that doxy does not hit it. Since she was bitten and started doxy within less than 24 hours, I'm hoping for the best. She has no symptoms at this time and I hope it stays that way.

She did not see an LLMD and does not have medical insurance or extra funds not would she get into any LLMD on such short notice anyway. We'll monitor things and hope that firstly she was not infected and if she was that the doxy will be enough to handle it since her treatment was immediate.

I'm not sure there's much more she can do right now except add artemesia and probiotics but any suggestions would surely be appreciated.

I guess as the days go by we'll have a better read on things and my hope is that she didn't pickup any co-infections that doxy doesn't hit.

She did mention that the site of the bite stings and burns and she had tingling in her fingers on the side of the bite since removing the tick. She was biten on her elbow and the tick was fully engorged. It also appears to be a dog tick but I fully realize that they pass on infections, too.
