I tried to talk to him about Lyme Disease. But they seem to have just accepted it without question. He said his lyme test was negative. No kidding..... I told him mine was too in the beginning.

Him and his wife just joked about it. They said laughter is the best medicine. I just hate it when people don't want to at least listen and consider seeing a lyme specialist.

How do people just accept such illnesses without checking out all other possibilities??? I mean if there were even a slight chance to get well, why wouldn't you give it a try? I'm so frustrated!

Tell him your best friend's dad had lyme that went into Parkinson's. That's me .. and my dad.

I'm now your "best friend."

I guess you do all you can and leave it up to them! There are links here in the archives on the connection if you think you could send them some emails.

One thing I try to do is match the person's energy - if they're light about it, I try to deliver my info in a light way. If they're more serious, then I follow that style. To try to stay on the same level with them in style as I try to get them to listen.

Fact: this will get worse and the person can die. We just got two Parkinson's cases here diagnosed as Lyme through positive tests, thankfully, which means they have a chance to treat.

I think I'll pm you.

My mom's friend has Parkinson's and has accepted the diagnosis. I tried to tell her about my symptoms and even showed her an article about Lyme being linked to parkinson's symptoms. She too has not looked into lyme. I think it's scary enough with the diagnosis and people want to trust in their doctors.

Her daughter now has POTS and hasn't listened to my advice either. there's only so much you can do...

I would loan him a copy of the film Under Our Skin. Maybe he will relate to the baseball player diagnosed with "Parkinsons".

I think it is a very powerful film that really covers the controversy and confusion surrounding Lyme.

I know, I can't figure out why someone would accept a diagnosis without researching it. I have had friends and family told they had ALS, MS, RA, and Parkinson. All of them have had tick bites! I have given them article's on Lyme, but they refuse to even question their doctors!!!

I don't understand it!!

Some were actually annoyed that I mentioned Lyme.
