I know, I know, but the news here is really pushing it. No wonder people are scared.

They are saying that the flu is causing deadly pneumonia and all.

Geezz. But I still dont think im going to get it.

Nope.

We'll take the ramifications of a virus over poisonous toxins.....been there, done that.

Mercury & Formaldehyde shot into my body (along with other additives that do not belong there)?

Absolutely not. Never, ever, again in my life would I get a flu shot. You could not pay me enough. I had severe damage in the past from more than one flu shot. Long lasting damage.

What you read in the news is not full disclosure of the variables.

If you are scared about flu, or even just justifiably concerned, there are many other ways to support your body in advance and during.

Still, if you want to believe all you read in the newspapers or hear on mass market TV & radio, it's your choice. If you want to believe the AMA, that is your choice.

If you want to learn more about other ways, you might connect with the LL naturopathic doctor in your area for individualized suggestions.

Thought, planning and action are called for - but you have a choice. The "alternative" options includes a bit more effort but, IMO, well worth it.

For those who don't have access to a ND (budget or location), there are solid places to learn more but it goes far beyond trusting the clerk at any ole vitamin shop (which I would not rely upon).

Yeah, it is troubling to watch this campaign.

Sadly, a little 5 year old boy in my state died -- he had gotten a flu shot but it failed to protect. So authorities say that it's probably because someone else who he came into contact with did NOT get the flu shot and then passed it to him (even if they did not have the flu).

Spin. Sad, sad, spin. Also a travesty because they are not really treating flu as I think they should. They don't call on the holistic doctors to consider a full point program that would include anti-virals and diet changes to reduce phlegm.

And they push acetaminophen which can be fatal in such cases.

No way Jose. I just received a Jeopardy study guide from a friend. I should copy and paste them. Very interesting facts & figures.

One of the facts...in 1978 more people died from the Swine Flu vaccine than the number of people that died from the Swine Flu itself.

My sister ended up being rushed to the ER via ambulance last year from the doctors office after they gave her a flu shot. Wouldn't touch it but understand your concern.

Not in this lifetime. It's a pot shot every year (they are guessing on the strain), and the shots have mercury in them (multi strain for now, but who knows for sure they will keep it out of the single dose). It's profit before people.

Read the fine print under is thimerosol being used in other vaccines (there are trace amounts of mercury in them). A trace is too much. Mercury is one of the deadliest toxins on the planet.

No way.

As 2 Roads said, "Nope....take the ramifications of a virus over poisonous toxins.....been there, done that. "

In all honesty, I would rather die from the flu that aggravate my body further. It's had enough abuse.

They're hyping it here also, Randi. It's the big scary story now that there haven't been any gang homicides in a while. Geesh. [bonk]

Just once in a while I would like a good story on the news, not the doom and gloom. [dizzy]

Sorry guys, I guess I'm the lone dissenter of the team (although I respect your opinoins.)

I'm not the first to run out and get a flu shot, and most years I don't get one.

But when the flu becomes endemic in my region, particularly if it is a nasty strain like H1N1, I will get a flu shot.

Yes, I know there are some nasty stuff in vaccines. But if you've ever had influenza, you will NEVER want to get it again.

For me, it is about protecting my kids/wife/family.

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

I respect your opinion as well. But I know too many who got the shot and got the flu... so I will pass.

Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :

Well they had a guy on the news last night, name was graham something, and he got the flu shot.

Guess where they interviewed him? Hospital!!! He had the flu...

Got it and am fine. Just like other years, no complications. It is about 59% effective and with severe asthma, I am hoping for protection. If you have a medical condition and need a flu shot, get it. If you get the disease with your lyme, you will be a lot worse off. The vaccine is just a signature of the virus, you body makes antiboides to the disease just as if you had the actual infection.

Knock on wood - LDN will protect me again. I have not had a flu shot since starting LDN 2 years ago and I have not gotten sick even though I have been exposed to it several times.

The day before yesterday I was doing chelation sitting next to a man complaining he was sick with it. Why in the world would a person expose everyone to the flu that he knows is already so sick they are getting chelation! Anyway no symptoms. I feel fine.

Over Christmas, my daughter and her boyfriend were both sick with fevers, chills and sweating. I was looking at them and worrying they must be contagious - BUT I am fine. I didn't catch anything.

Before I started LDN, we were all exposed to the flu at Christmas a year ago. It went through all of us with the exception of my husband who had been on LDN for several weeks. Not only were we all sick but everyone in everyone else's family was sick too . I vomited all night and stayed sick for two months. My husband didn't even get a headache.

Take LDN. Don't get a shot.

Nope. More effective & FAR safer to do all the avoid-direct-contact stuff, where a mask in close quarters w/ the public (which you minimize) & wash your hands a lot.
And keep up w/ sleep.

I got the preservative free flu shot. Had no problems. No side effects. Got it back near Thanksgiving.

I can't risk getting the flu with my immune deficiency. If I get the flu and it leads to pneumonia it could easily kill me due to my immune deficiency.

So I'm grateful for the shot!

Before Lyme I could tolerate the shots. With Lyme, it just made me feel 10 times worse and drove me further into a relapse.

My former llmd said not to get it.

Good point LSG! Maybe that's why I don't get the flu (take lots of D).

I also vote for higher intake of Vit D3! It has been a WONDERFUL tool at home for fighting colds and flu.

No way I get these poisonous shots. No thank you.

My daughter is 10 years old, we are STILL trying to clean up the damage from vaccinations she got when she was 0, 1 and 2 years old.

I still wonder if we will ever get totally rid of the chronic problems that came with these vaccines (food allergies, for example).

My son-in-law and I was talking one day (a month or so ago).

He told me he was getting the Flu short the next day, I told him how I feel about this, but he got it anyway.

The next day he said he thought he was dying, said he was never as sick as this in his life. He never takes time off work either, but he couldn’t even get out of bed.

He doesn’t have Lyme, nor any other hearth problems, very healthy. He's going to rethink the Flu short next year!

We never know year to year, what poisonous toxins they are putting in these shots. This was his first time he got sick.

Scarey stuff!
Even if there's no impurities/ toxins in there, it could still have an insufficiently weakened flu virus that your body has no "recognition" of, hence defense against... which can wreak havoc.

There's just not good enough Q.C. of those flu shot serums being distributed, in my opinion.

In addition to Vit D3, don't forget things like elderberry extract (aka Sambucol, which is sold in drug stores like CVS) as well as homeopathic preventatives like oscillinococcum (sp?) and gunaflu.

Posted by beaches (Member # 38251) on :

DD had severe asthma when she was little, so flu vaccine was indicated. She got so sick from the shot, so never again.

I focus on maintaining healthy Vit D3 levels along with the above-mentioned rememdies as well as old-fashioned things like hand-washing, keeping the house as clean/sanitized as possible and avoiding sick people to the extent possible.

Beaches, I think it's oscillococcinum!

And Steve, I hope your so-in-law gets better soon. I guess not all get sick with the shots just because they haven't hit the turning point yet on their toxic load.

Hit the turning point, and you fall sick with a tiny amount of toxins. That is how I see.

Before that turning point, you think you were healthy, and that all these discussions about toxins were rubbish. Hit the turning point, try to get back to your previous state of health, and when you can't, you start to wonder what went wrong.

it takes years, decades, a lifetime to know what the problemS were. And we can mostly guess, not really know.

My rule of thumb is: when we don't know, we don't put it inside your body. When we are not sure, either. If you doubt just slightly, you don't take. You read pros and cons, and you decide consciously what is best for you.

Before I had children, things were easier. I just could damage myself due to my bad decisions.

But when I had to decide for another one's life, not my own, I became a warrior. The price my daughter had to pay for a not-so-proved immunity due to vaccines, is much too high in my opinion.

When I think of infections, there is almost always a way out, even if not always easy. When I think of vaccination damage, we are still looking for ways to correct the mistake.

I understand that mama warrior shield. Ive been wearing it for a long time.

Dr D in this radio program talks about lyme and lyme like syndromes caused by toxicity from vaccination. She talks about the coverup going on and why there are so many lyme diagnosis these days. She says much of it is not lyme but toxicity disesae from vaccines and other drugs.

I think she is right.

I wonder if nursing homes require vaccines for all residents? Or hospitals of all patients? That's another concern, of course.

Advanced Google Search of: "do nursing homes require vaccination of residents"

some government sites say, "yes, required (unless) . . . ."

Vaccines were different in our youth and in our parents' -- and I will say that some of them have saved hundreds, maybe thousands of lives & hardship. Polio is a wonderful example. I'm glad I had that opportunity - to get that vaccine.

I know there are other examples but I don't have the capacity to write an essay on it.

It's been in the more recent decades that things have changed, though. There are still certain illnesses that, IMO, do call for a vaccine. But I don't want the mercury and formaldehyde, etc.

The schedule for kids, seemingly now a vaccine for just about anything . . . it all is just too much.
No major effort to "Green our Vaccines" and get the neurotoxic additives out, etc.

I nearly died from convulsions after a tetanus booster many years ago. Still, tetanus is not to be messed with, can move very fast and the there is a valuable vaccine for that - in theory - without the additives.

My body also just does not work anymore. A flu vaccine literally made me bed-bound for a full year. I had to learn to walk and talk again and that took at least another full year after that.

So, these are not the vaccines of my youth. Not at all.

Yeah last time I got one, which was years ago, I went into as downward spiral, and to this day still dont feel I have truly recovered.

Just like Sammy ,

My immune system is very low for other reasons .
5 people in our state (Fla)have already died and 2 more are on life support.
This Flu. infection would likely cause my death.
I did get the Flu vaccine but feel I had no choice.
After coming out of a long coma ,I don't recall how many months but it was almost forever. I was told any infection would be very dangerous for me.

Hi Al, I understand both sides of this debate.

And I agree with your decision, it's so hard to make this decision when one is already so sick.
It seems like for some people, your damned if you do, and damned if you don’t

I hope you're doing well!

Steve

Yeah, I think we can all understand the situation of everyone, regardless of their decisions. It's actually nice to have a cordial tone to this thread, although there are posts of various thoughts & opinions.

At some news sites, the comments following most medical articles can be so hostile. I still think I might learn a thing or two by the comments but, so often, it's a sea of torpedos.

Here, at LymeNet, It does seem like we all understand both "sides" to this - and the many aspects to each side, all sides, too. Certainly is a tricky issue.

Yes I agree.

I respect and value the opinions on this thread a thousand times more because I know folks with TBDs have really really weighed the options and looked at the risks/rewards.

It's a whole different ball game with TBD or with ill children at home. And it's nice to have a place where everyone's decision is the right one.

You guys are the best!

XOXO

Speaking about intaking toxins, did anyone see the report where it said there were 24,000 chemicals in bottled water?

Posted by Lymedin2010 (Member # 34322) on :

Wife is a nurse & she felt ill the week she got the shot. I got the shot years ago & got flu like symptoms & fever a few days after.

Her co-worker nurses report some have also been sick, one had collapsed on the floor in the hospital from the shot.

I avoided it so far, but if it gets bad enough I might be tempted, although I should know better.

I would not be surprised if they are putting in Borrelia segments (blebs) in it too. It sure would be a nice way from cutting someones social security really early from their eyes (OUR FRIENDS).

I knew their were chemicals, but 24K? Damn!

Lymedin2010, I think the Flu may have peaked in some or most areas, that's what some are saying??? (Not sure)

I would do some research and or talk to your doctor before getting the shot.

It takes between (two & four) weeks to be affected from what I’ve read.

Just a thought….Keep your hands cleans – Stay away from crowds – Vit. C & D.
