Sorry to bombarde with yet another question. It's been a confusing week.
This morning, while dreaming, I had full body convulsions.
The convulsions were enough to wake me up and knock my cats off the bed.
They were not related to the dreams. One dream was about adding curry powder to mayonnaise for a veggie dip...no need to convulse over curry dip.
It happened at least 5 maybe 6 times this morning.
I don't know if these were full body muscle spasms or a seizure.
I was sleeping on my side. So the convulsions went from curling tighter to a fetal positions to uncurling, but not completely straightening out. It happened so quickly, back and forth, back and forth, I can't replicate the movements consciously.
I wear a mouthguard. I did not lose control of my bladder.
I remember waking after one and thinking to myself I was giving myself whiplash.
Anyways, before I bring these up to my docs (REALLY tired of bringing something up every visit), I want to know if this is fairly common.
My muscles are so sore today and I am bloody exhausted.

- I've had this happen and it is very unsettling. Be sure to rest for a few days, try to stay off the computer, avoid video games and even TV (unless you must and then keep it to travel videos, no commercials).
Do not drive today (actually, it would be best to not drive for a while). When walking, do not walk or wait near the curb.
Avoid all fluorescent lights. Other detail here (if you have someone who can read through this, it would be better than you being on the computer). -

- I live a ways south of you but we had terrible wind storms last night. If you were in that same system, the wind and inner ear pressure could trigger this kind of seizure. It's happened for me.
Side sleeping can put undue pressure on the nerves to the neck, brain stem. That could have caused some nerve constriction that in someone with the kind of neuro and inflammation issues as with lyme, could be the "trigger"
Take care of your neck. -

I have whole body jerking at night. Sometimes I jerk so hard I think my muscles are going to lock up. Its annoying fer sure.

Sounds very similar to an actual tonic clonic seizure. Definitely tell your LLMD. Unfortunately seizure meds may or may not help. Very very much trial and error to find one that helps if any do.

I am told lyme seizures have nothing to do with the storm that goes on in the brain for all other kinds of seizures. It has to do with spasms. I remember an article within the last few months about this. Try googling it and see if something pops up

I'm sorry to hear you have this problem; I know you have had to go through some very rough times lately.
Lyme can cause a range of movement disorders. I personally saw involuntary movements in a child with Lyme which were so violent they almost threw his body around the room.
No disrespect to Bea, who is only trying to help, but I can reassure you that you're not having a tonic-clonic seizure. A person having one of these is not aware of what is happening to them during the fit (and may not have full consciousness for quite some time after).
I hope your LLMD can help you with these distressing symptoms. If this happens a lot at night and you have any means of rigging up a video recording in your bedroom, this may help him/her very much.

Look up myclonic jerks. Thats what my llmd said is very very common in lyme. He said they can be terrifying and also cause full body jerking.

I wondered about myoclonic jerks also. I got those in Rifampin, which I think you are on, or were?
