Hi all, I have not been visiting this site for months because there was a lot of other things going on. I have been off abx for about a month and am in remission.

My last infection was bartonella and I got it under control with Bactrim DS and roxythromycin. It caused sleeping problems so I only took it once a day. I still get mild headaches most night but they go away with imetrex.

The soles of my feet are a little tender for a couple of minutes when I first get up in the morning. I have no other symptoms. No muscle twitching, no insomnia, no anxiety and I am under tremendous stress.

I can think pretty well, remember ok and have normal energy considering my age. Even my eyes are not quiet so dry and irritated.

I also had protomyxzoa and that is supposed to be incurable. I have no symptoms. I take prickly pear cactus fat binders after every meal with over 5 grams of fat. I eat much more normally. I eat cheese everyday and whole eggs. I eat some nuts in food. I just made cookies with real butter and had one. That would equal about 6 grams of fat so I took one fat binder.

I usually get sicker in the fall so this is good news so far. I hope I can stay well. They only drug I am taking is LDN and imetrex for the headaches.

I got bitten in 2006 so it has been a very long haul. I had at least 6 infections and each one of them required different treatment.

That is great to hear! How long did it take to get Bartonella under control? I have terrible twitches/spasms and have been on Bactrim for one month, it has only gotten worse not better. Also Doxy, Ceftin, Plaquenil.

I hope it lasts and enjoy feeling good.

Thanks everyone!! You are all such a lift. The one thing about having lyme disease is you will meet some of the nicest people in the world.

I have been on LDN for several years. I think it helps a lot. If anything is going around I usually don't get it or if I do, it is not as severe as it could be.

I treated bartonella twice. I am not sure if I was re-infected or it was just dormant. The first time it took about 9 months to get rid of and the second time about 8 months.

The amazing thing is my ability to sleep. I have been under a lot of stress that would normally keep me awake and worried but I fall asleep without a problem. I go to bed each night wondering if this is going to be the end of my lucky streak and next thing I know it is morning. I have had insomnia since I was 12 so this is a miracle for me. It feels so good.

I just hope I am not giving a premature hurrah. Oh well, might as well be optimistic and enjoy the moment.

Stay positive. A good night's sleep is worth a million dollars! It is a sign that the brain is in balance...and that's awesome.
Ok-so bartonella 8 months or so...twitching and spasms driving me crazy. But if you did it then so can I and the rest of the group. Thanks again for sharing and enjoy.

From my personal experience & from the oration of others, I can say that SLEEP comes before all else when chronically ill.

Regardless of what herbs, abx, detox method, or anything else I am on or undergoing, when I don't sleep I tend to feel a lot worst with aggravated symptoms. I have also found that lack of sleep propagates further lack of sleep.

Sleep allows my body to recoup and heal the daily damage inflicted by Lyme, my immune system to refresh & and gain the slightest upper hand in this stalemate between bacteria load & immune response.
