Does Babesia cause burning skin? Or is that more of one of the other infections?
Trying to decide if I'm going to take coartem or plaquenil...

Have you explored the possibility of Mast Cell Activation Disorder?
You can get burning skin from food sensitivities and Lyme can cause MCAD... which makes a person have more sensitivities.

Definitely possible, the MCAD. One doc says its Bartonella, but I'm wondering... I've eliminated all the foods I'm sensitive to (and then some!), so I'm sure it's not a food sensitivity,
It did go away in June and in August. I can't quite figure out why. It's growing daily now and is horrific.

I think all my other symptoms could be caused by Babesia, except maybe the burning skin, so that's why I'm asking.
Seems like there's always one puzzle piece that doesn't quite fit.

Just awful because it's so hard figuring things out on our own!!!
I have to take Diflucan (unending yeast), and doc wants me to try coartem for possible Babesia, but you can't take those two together, according to his assistant and the drug interaction checker.

Me too, I couldn't find anything about burning skin with Babesia, but I found a lot about it with Bartonella.
It's evenly distributed on both sides of my body, which from what I could find seems to be more Bartonella than Lyme (Lyme would be uneven???).
I grew up with cats and have had tons of flea bites, so Bartonella could definitely be it...

Seems to me this could easily be lyme, because numbness, burning and freezing sensations, etc suggest neurological origins, and lyme is a neurological disease, among other things.

Mine is symmetrical, though, and seems like what I've read about Lyme says it would be more wandering and patchy maybe???
Mine started in my hands and feet and spread symmetrically up my limbs. Maybe it still is Lyme though... But if I could rule out Babesia as a cause that would give me a direction to head.

My burning sensations were more wandering, and spread up my arms, back, neck, and face. When it reached my head, my brain was fried.
It was Lyme in my case. Treating it with Ceftin or cefuroxime axetel makes it go away in 3 months.

yes I know all about this also, at one stage it felt as though I was literally lying out exposed to 95f sun for ten days, the burning sensation within my body was beyond belief before and after that particular episode it has been sporadic and wandering throughout my body, especially upper part

I have skin burning. It's better now (knock on wood), but it used to be horrible, debilitating.
I have Babesia duncani. And bartonella. I've actually been wondering the same thing - is it Lyme, Bartonella or Babesia?
I think it could be Babs. Mainly because most of my symptoms are Babesia and because Babesia duncani actually causes a lot more neurological symptoms than other Babesia strains.

SickSam, it's just neuropathy and paresthesia. I consider it to be a non-diagnostic sign. It could be anything. People with diabetes and all kinds of garden variety neurological problems experience it.
But I would lean more towards neurological than blood diseases. Babesia is a blood parasite and can have all kinds of weird symptoms but specific *neuropathies* are, in my opinion, either Lyme or viral symptoms.
