Yes - 10,000 people signed a petition against him being on the panel. He's a Lyme denialist with a lot of conflicts of interest.

You know, AIDS was a mess for years, then people protested, and finally it got under control, with meds people can take these days and stay alive.

It's time for Lyme and co's turn now, to stabilize, and move everyone toward better health.

This is the beginning of the end for the denialist cartel. The science always has been and is increasingly against them. The battle will be over when the CDC aligns their guidelines with ILADS. That is when we plant the flag.

So long sad times
Go long bad times
We are rid of you at last
Howdy gay times
Cloudy gray times
You are now a thing of the past
Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
So let's sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again
Altogether shout it now
There's no one
Who can doubt it now
So let's tell the world about it now
Happy days are here again
Your cares and troubles are gone
There'll be no more from now on
From now on
Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
So, let's sing a song of cheer again
Happy times
Happy nights
Happy days
Are here again!

PS. Does anyone know anyone that was named more appropriately? [toilet] [hi]

I'm not sure why he was ever on the panel to begin with, but I am mighty glad to hear he's been removed.

Because the antiscience denialist cartel controlled research funding for Lyme and he has his name on lots of papers. Thankfully not all are useless, but many are. Glad this administration is listening to the people. Time to drain the swamp.

With the upmost respect to you.

The current administration has nothing to do with the conception of the HHS's Tick Disease Working Group.

It was conceived in the past administration under the 21st Century Affortable Care Act.

I post this only to provide an accurate reading of history.

Also, this would have never been able to happen without the past and present Lyme sufferers advocating for change.

Thank you to the Lyme warriors who are no longer with us, who paid the ultimate price. . .

Thank you to the Lyme warriors who still struggle on a daily basis and fight with every fiber of their being. . .

Thank you to the Lyme warriors who are healthy but still continue to fight for their fellow Lyme community.

Strength in numbers. 💚

I never said it did. The 21st Century Cures Act was passed by bipartisan Congress, not the Executive Branch. The Working group now falls under HHS (the Executive Branch) and the Secretary appoints voting members of the group. I highly doubt Wormser voluntarily took himself off the WG. It would not have happened if the Secretary didn't listen to the petitions. Trump appointed Hargan as acting Secretary around 10/10/17. Less than two months later Wormser is gone. Sorry, those are all facts other than my opinion about whether Wormser wanted to be on the panel or not. If the WG was just Wormser and his cronies, trust me, he would not have "declined the invitation", even in the face of the petitions. That is face saving spin if I ever saw one. Removing the IDSA guidelines from the National Registry Clearinghouse was the first leg off the stool, after ILADS posted theirs. This was the second, IMO. Having CDC accept ILADs protocols is the third and final leg to be removed from this rotten stool, then it is time to plant the flag. Maximum pressure now needs to be applied on the CDC swamp.

BobG, I suggest you break up your post (above) because MANY on LymeNet cannot read dense text like this.

Two or 3 lines of text maximum per paragraph.

Sorry. Just one more thought. Correct me if I am wrong, but this is the first time the Federal Government has listened to the Lyme community in 25 years. Perhaps setting up the WG to begin with, but listening this directly, I mean. Any other examples anyone?
