I took the Western blot test at a standard compunet lab and found out that result came back negative and I have no means whatsoever of income for the igenex tests unfortunately but I'm still confident that I'm still infected as that test returned a false positive as a lot of my criteria matches a possible lyme outbreak primarily with my deteorating cognitive abilities and my poor concentration not being in sync since I have extreme brain fog in conjunction (might be my depakote 250mg adding insult on top) with derealization episodes and that makes my daily functioning including socializing a great challenge since I'm forcing myself to think always plus I see artifacts and visual snow in my vision
field and constant tinnitus in my right ear mainly so basically my question is if I should try getting testing at another generic lab like labcorp right now since igenex is out of the equation and request a complete test for lyme or get a infectious specialist referral within my area from my doctor, thanks!

How do you know you tested negative ?
Because the Doctor told you you were negative ?
Was the ordering Doctor ILADS trained ?
Did you get a copy of the western blot test results ?

Mainstream doctors require 5 reactive bands for a positive diagnosis of Lyme Disease. What if you had 4 bands ? It's like the saying " You're alittle bit pregnant." Some LLMD's will clinically diagnosis Lyme disease with 1 band if the symptoms of Lyme are presented, especially severe neurological impairments. Tick Borne Infections are their speciality !

The only way I would advise you to see an Infectious Doctor, is to get another western blot Lyme test done, and only if it's insurance covered. Then take both test results to an LLMD. I guarantee both test results will be different as they are so very unreliable. But this extra information might help LLMD from avoiding more costly labs.

Absolutely NO WAY around employing a LLMD if you want your health back. It took me 3 years and 19 doctors before I got my diagnosis. This is the norm, not the exception. I wouldn't want you to have to go through that.

actually I had a physician associate (family practice) conduct the test and had the results read over the phone when they became available because the psychian didn't even acknowledge to me details of what the test include so it was like her word against mine which led me to switch doctor's because of these unethical standards they put me through because I never received a copy of the labs. would labcorps bands for western blot tests vary from other places then?

Ask them in writing for the test results. It is your right.

I would go ahead and try to get a test through LabCorp. Do you have a known tick bite?

The basic WB test from Igenex would cost about $250.

I heard people account not noticing a rash or bite and they still got tested positive for lyme because they have a neuro lyme type which can mimic any mental illness and they found out that's how their depersonalization began because I've been feeling a sense of disconnection from my surroundings for a few years and my environment gets all funky when I'm around too much stimulation then I get this hangover mode where my brain lacks any active thought process even because before my mind race continuously with music and just other spam and I never felt this way prior neither had I encountered visual snow and blurry vision that is constant everyday so that's why I always suspected I have a misdiagnosed lyme case my doctor's are missing but I might discuss other solutions of what I can try next on my follow up visit because the brain fog and no thoughts is unbearable plus the depakote doesn't help much for depression anyways I'm on for awhile

I had a test done, not through Igenex, and three bands came up positive for lyme., you do not need five bands. I also got tested through Igenex for the coinfection panel and I am positive for babesia duncani. Get another test and go to a llmd is you can. I have a lot of your symptoms.

If your tests were done through LabCorp just go to their website and register. You can see your lab results online.
