Hi there,
I got my blood test results back and noticed my free t3 is 6.1. Normal range is 3.2-5.9.
Is this any cause for concern or need to have any medication? This is the first time I’ve ever had elevated levels. My symptoms seem to be consistent with high levels but can’t tell if it’s from Lyme or not.
Thanks in advance

I really don't know enough about it to tell you anything.

My favorite Facebook group for thyroid issues is Thyroid Advocates.

Ask there.

How many hours before you had your blood drawn did you take your thyroid meds?

It should be 12-17 hrs before blood tests. If you had taken your thyroid meds in the morning and then shortly after had blood drawl, then your tests results are falsely elevated.

What are your other thyroid levels? TSH and T4?

Your result is ". . . 6.1. Normal range is 3.2-5.9. . . ."

That's just 0.2 off the range. Two-tenths of one percent is so very close to nothing.

I think you can rest easy on this. I think that's actually a good reading A blimp on the screen.

Had it been taken 12 x any one day, you would have fluctuations just from the way any of these test measures clock in. And some of the number cut-offs don't mean all that much. They take an average or just pull numbers out of the hat.

And, most hormones up & down cycle at least a bit (maybe more) periodically throughout the day, too.
