I'm considering doing stem cell therapy for my bone on bone hip instead of surgery and on the list of reasons they don't recommend it is chronic disease.

I don't believe lyme caused my hip to degenerate. I've had a tight left hip for years before I got lyme. My CBC, heart etc is normal, so I'm healthy on paper.

I haven't gone for a consult yet and in my opinion I believe I'm healthy enough to do this. I still get flares of what I think is bartonella though.

Does anyone have an opinion?

At least my primary care would back me up on "not having lyme" since I tested negative for lyme and bart with him recently.

Does anyone see any kind of danger in doing this with lyme? The clinic I'm considering is Mayo.

I'm so scared of hip replacement surgery that I really want to do stem cells instead.

I've heard good things about both - ie both hip replacement surgery and stem cell injections. People who have had their hip replaced have all said afterward why did they wait so long? And stem cell injections help too.

I guess this doesn't really help in that it's not a vote for one over the other. I guess you can keep chatting about it with doctors and patients to make your decision.

Anyone know if there are contradictions for stem cell regeneration if you might have critters in blood or joint?
