Can cutting past the quick on toes cause more nerve pain?

I have a newish throbbing pain in the area after I did that, or 2 days after. Random.
I did somethung like this 6 mos ago or so and for weeks had an odd nerve pain. Made me stop doing Epsom foot baths bc I thought it was salt getting into the area.
