I know it’s been talked about on Lyme forums to death about how Claritin could ‘possibly’ help in some way with Lyme. All I know so far is that it might prevent manganese from getting into the Lyme bacteria/cell and it could possibly starve it.
I need to look up the studies more on this to see if it’s actually a real “thing.” Have heard a couple Lyme drs putting their patients on Claritin...not sure if it’s for that or just for MCAS issues. Anyway, my question is...
If this is even true that taking Claritin could ‘possibly’ starve the Lyme bacteria, can you herx on Claritin??? Or would it’s effect not be noticeable in the same way like we herx on actual antibiotics or any natural antimicrobials/herbs?

Have you done a search on this site? There is 149 threads about Claritin.
It seems to help some with symptoms. No, it's not going to cure anything.
We all have a cess pool of bacterias, viruses, parasites, heavy metals, molds/fungi/yeast, hormone deficiency that also is keeping us down.
It's a big picture and every puzzle piece needs to be addressed.

Since being diagnosed with MCAS, I really feel that is why Claritin helped some patients.

Yes - totally understand Claritin is in no way a cure. After dealing with chronic Lyme & co’s for 22 years I know there are layers upon layers of things that need to be addressed in order to heal.
I will do my best to search the Claritin threads but my neuro-brain stuff is so intense it limits how much I can use and look at my phone.
Does anyone know the answer to my original question if Claritin could actually cause a direct herx?
Lymetoo - yup, trying it for MCAS. Just not sure if it’s helping or if I’m reacting to it in some way. With feeling awful 24/7, it’s pretty impossible to tell. Would rather take a compounded form without some fillers that could possibly be bothering me... corn starch, lactose, etc.

- can't say if it would cause a herx (I tend to doubt it) but claritan - while it can bring some relief in some ways - also can have some really rough side effects. More about that in some of the past threads. -

I needed an allergy relief medication so I changed to Claritin "just in case" it might possibly help with LD also.
