Do you still have infectious Bb or are you now autoimmune due to one particular antigen (a protein in Bb)?
T-Helper 17 Cell Cytokine Responses in Lyme Disease Correlate With Borrelia burgdorferi Antibodies During Early Infection and With*** Autoantibodies*** Late in the Illness in Patients With Antibiotic-Refractory Lyme Arthritis.
Patients with Lyme disease often develop pronounced TH17 immune responses that may help control early infection.
However, late in the disease, excessive TH17 responses may be disadvantageous by contributing to autoimmune responses associated with antibiotic-refractory LA.
The bile acid tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA), an inhibitor of cell stress (Kees- tra-Gounder et al., 2016; Xie et al., 2002), inhibited Th17 cell differentiation and counteracted the effect of hypoglycemia, osmotic stress, and hypoxia.

Th17 Cell-Associated Response to Borrelia Burgdorferi Outer Surface Protein A
OspA is linked to Bb's p66she protein - a stress regulator protein.
I wish I knew the dosage and timing of TUDCA (a bile salt conjugated with taurine) and which supplement company makes the best one.

Sorry, Marnie, no longer any such thing as abx-refractory LA if the new Guidelines remain unchallenged and unchanged. At least, that's how I understood it.
Evidently they are trying to rebrand it as post-antibiotic LA.
