I've had a sinus infection for some time and wondered whether it might be lyme-related. My little finger could reach something that felt like a sore in one nasal passage. There was always a little blood and the sore would not go away although I put some ozonated olive oil on it to try to heal it.
The same side of my head was always swollen a lot and the inside of my head regularly swelled up. I thought that might be able to get rid of the infection with my treatment of Mycoplasma pneumonia. That did not do anything so I figured it was a separate infection.
So around the first of July I began using a nasal irrigator to clear my nose. I've done this before so I knew it would not clear the infection by itself. So after, I began alternating squirting betadine, hydrogen peroxide, and goldenseal tincture into my nose at the sore.
The h. peroxide I squirted out of the bottle and with the betadine and goldenseal I used droppers. On day 2, I blew a yellow blob into the sink and figured that this was the mother lode of the infection.
After that, when I felt the infection spot clogging up again, I squirted betadine or h. peroxide into that nasal cavity. Goldenseal stung too much. This is July 18 and I have no more symptoms.
This may only pertain to having a sore in the nose. When I went to the ENT, I specifically mentioned that there was a sore and he had no response. It was a localized infection and you'd think that would be pretty basic.
Sorry if this is gross. I have a friend that cannot listen to me talk about it.
