Can you have a herx-like reaction when starting LDN? I finally got the nerve up to add it into my regimen, and the longer I take it, the worse I feel.
My legs are heavy and feel like I've ran a marathon. My ankles and feet hurt. My lower back hurts. My hands are flaring up.
I just started Rifampin back up for the second time because when I first started on it, we thought it was causing my headaches. Turns out it was something else. I was feeling well on it before. I can't help but contribute this horrible feeling to starting the LDN.
I would love any insight from anyone else who has experienced this. Up until this point, I have been one of those few patients who just feels better on my antibiotic therapy. I haven't had very many negative symptoms.
I am dealing with some nasty viruses that are attacking my system. I've had shingles four times now. I thought the LDN could help with pain AND immune function but now I'm not so sure I want my immune system messed with so much.

If you feel worse with LDN, I would stop it (tapering off, perhaps if you've advanced to a higher step).
LDN is not for everyone. Even starting at the very low, low dose and trying for some time it was terrible for me. Turns out that, for some, it's just not a good match.
I don't think immune support can really work in the subtle ways intended when there is a major infection that needs direct treatment of an anti-microbial nature.
Though, too, there are other immune supports that are much more gentle and easy to tolerate such as key medicinal mushrooms. Food as immune support just makes so much sense to me - and works better for me than LDN.

I have stuck with it as my LLNP told me that she does have some of her patients to have a herx like reaction. I backed off of my dosage too and I'm not feeling as much pain in my legs.
