Fibro is a symptom, cause unknown. Docs call it a syndrome. Find the root cause of the symptoms/syndrome. Treat the root cause.

My first diagnosis 40 years ago was FM. That is what they call it when your Lyme test is negative!!

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in the early 80s and met in fibro groups large and small for years. When I finally found out it was Lyme, I tried to contact people from that time. Those I was able to contact had found out they had Lyme and the sickest had co-infections.

In the Lyme documentary, "Under Our Skin," many Lyme patients remark their first diagnosis was fibromyalgia. So I'd say most fibro is Lyme - not sure I can say all, but certainly most.

That along with ms and numerous other. Some docs believe same. I have to lean that way. All sudden most rheumatoid docs dxing so many with FM instead of Lyme. This too will change next 5yrs.

I find fibro symptoms are greatly reduced by watching the oxalate content in the foods and supplements I eat. Check out www.lowoxalate.info
