Hello,

I got Lyme for almost two years now. (Bartonella, Borrelia.) Thing is at a point, I began to wake up often at night, when I do it I always have go to pee otherwhise can't fall back asleep. I have no idea what this could be, no single clue.

Generally I wake up every 2/3hrs sometimes it's easy to fall back asleep sometimes now.
Since one week now I wake up every hour and damn, totally not feel refreshed when I wake up, I'm just dead...

Huge lines under the eyes, I feel lethargic, very heavy, eyes heavy .. Just want to go back to sleep but can't since my mind is like ; Hey it's morning time to wake up yo !

Yet I go to sleep around 21/22/23hrs takes sometimes 2hrs to fall asleep and wake up around 9/10/11/12hrs but well.. Even if I sleep less or more, I still don't feel refreshed and wake up every hour...

Could this be a neurological issue ?
Maybe it's a problem with my bladder ?

I just wake up very awake, but still groggy, I've been treathing since almost two years now...
I do take right now ; (I don't think it's something with what I take right now, because...

Had it since more than one year and sometimes I change protocol, only thing that stayed are the antibiotics.)

I do detox when I can.. Epsom salt baths, sauna (where the water is boiled), liposomal glutathion, milk thistle, sometimes diatomaceous earth..
Rifampicin 1x150mg3x300mg
Tetracyline 3x300mg
Plaquenil 1x

Any Clue ? I'm really hopeless right now. [Frown] I have enought of the multiple awakenings at night...

Also. It never got better while treathing, yet many other symptoms got better or got away with time, but this one is the SINGLE one that stayed EVERYDAY (well everynight lol) Like it NEVER goes away ! ...

So maybe it's not lyme ?? But it began when I got lyme ? Before I could sleep 12hrs straight loool..

(breaking up the post for easier reading for many)

Could be interstitial cystitis... Did you change your diet any?

Eating more acidic foods in the evenings?

Don't have answers to all your questions here. Just want to say that insomnia is a common Lyme symptom. For me, it started when I got Lyme.

Perhaps you could experiment with sleep aids? At least, research anything that helps people sleep. I take benadryl to go to sleep.

I know that you will probably dismiss this, I did.

I did not believe I could have this, but I did. And I was waking up every few hours and having to pee. What did I have?

Sleep Apnea. Yes, that's right. Along with Lyme, and Co's.

And when I use my machine, I sleep all night like a baby. But, not at first. I had to be in treatment for lyme also. But, as I found improvement with lyme treatment, I was able to use my Bipap, and boy could I sleep.

Now I am reinfected and my cats are chewing on the hose of my Bipap, making holes. Sooo, I need to get all of this straightened out again.

But, call any Sleep Lab and make an appointment.

I think I read somewhere that these infections can cause or contribute to sleep apnea, but not sure how.

Good Luck

Bartonella is known to attack the bladder. Go to a urologist. You might have Interstitial Cystitis or another treatable bladder condition.

I have interstitial cystitis from bartonella infection. If you aren't on an antibiotic that targets bartonella, ask your LLMD about it.

My daughter never tested positive for bart, but she definitely had it. I did test positive for it, and the meds have helped with my IC pain. It feels weird to not be getting up 3-4 times per night to use the bathroom now. I lived with IC(bart) for 20 years before treating.
