Has anyone had severe leg pain that wakes them up. It is

extremely painful and nothing helps , no pillow, no change of

position. It usually is in my hips, either one, goes to my butt,

down my knees, calves. It is excruciating- nothing comes up

on scans- just arthritis in practically while body which I know

can affect. I’ve had restless leg but this came on suddenly. I

thought maybe it could be PAD, neuropathy, who knows. Got

no more money to play around with doctors and tests. My

Lyme is over 20 years old, did the antibiotics and the whole 9

yards- it caused my dementia too. Last time I knew I also had

HHV6 I think, - anyway- I am broke so I don’t have $ to go

around chasing miracles, all due respect. Has anyone ever

experienced this? What kind of doctor should I see? What

could it be? Any home remedies? I can go to bed well because

of meds but it’ll wake me up later. I am desperate, I don’t even

want to sleep . Thank you for your time!

Hi!

I have this situation, too, in my lower legs and nothing has really handled it, but the intensity is way down. For a "fix" at night, I get up, walk around until the pain goes away, and heat up a long pellet-filled thing called a "body buddy" I think, in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Then, I go back to bed with this between my calves.

What also helps is more exercise during the day, a deep massage if it gets to be 5 times or more in a night, different magnesium compounds with calcium at meals and before bed (CALM works for some people), electrolytes. I've recently been recommended to use an inversion table to drain the toxins and fluids from the legs. Haven't tried that enough to know if it helps or not.

Lobelia tincture can help---it's relaxing. You can learn to make your own cheap. Try it from a health food store first. There's an Amish leg cramps remedy my husband uses that works for him. That's another health food store item.

No MD I've been to has helped at all with this, even a sleep specialist.

Thank you Cass- Ill take not of your advice! Its really bad-las night I put a pillow under my knees and triedto sleep on my back.

I would try electrolytes. as well as MAGNESIUM OIL.

Apply it to the legs several times a day and see if that helps. Helps me.

I had sort of light sciatica pains, and light pains in the legs too (on and off for years, nothing as serious as yours, though).

I think it's either EBV or any herpes family virus causing inflammation there.

I'm following Anthony William / the medical medium, and so many health problems are being solved.

It's been months that this leg / back / sciatic-like pain has been solved by doing his diet and following some of his tips on herbs.

I also follow Buhner's tips on antimicrobial herbs, but I only take these herbs in low amounts (not the crazy schedule I had during lyme).

I think these stuff can help lowering inflammation / infection from these nerves:

- licorice tea (strong anti viral),
- raw ginger infusions / juices (relaxes nerves, anti viral/ bacterial etc) (Buhner has some suggestions on how to prepare ginger),
- lemon balm (very anti viral, relaxes nerves too)
- thyme infusions (antimicrobial)

You may mix all of them together, it may even work better together than alone as licorice and ginger are synergistic herbs.

I would add wild honey inside the teas (let them steep overnight if you can, to get stronger chemicals), and drink them during the day.

They could help diminish the pain, I hope.

These are very inexpensive herbs/ roots and you can prepare infusions at home and drink them by liters.

I hope you find a solution.

I also discovered that avoiding eggs, all dairy, gluten, eating low fat, low protein made my body produce MUCH less inflammation.

Anthony William says that these foods feed all pathogens in the body.

He said herpes virus of all types are the main culprits for most of the chronic suffering people have to endure today.

As you have HHV-6 activated, well, I'd give a try, if I were you.

I'm following his suggestions for 15 months, and my nerves, joints, brain, liver, gut, thyroid, everything is healing on its own.

I guess I found THE anti inflammatory diet I had always looked for.

I hope you find something to stop the pain.

A simple experiment for you to try would be to take some turmeric - it's anti-inflammational and could ease inflammational pain if that's what's going on.

I get turmeric powder in bulk at the health food store and dip empty 00-size capsules in it - I take one in the am and pm.

Also second the magnesium suggestions for easing muscle spasms.

I hope you can use the magnesium oil. I got a bad rash reaction to it after the second time, no matter what brand!

I take a different form of magnesium with each meal and at night, along with calcium.

Yes, I've checked into peripheral artery disease---I probably have some of that going on, and am currently taking a supplement that's supposed to fix it, called Veinesco. That's a slow process, so I'm not willing to say whether it's working or not.

I have a friend who's a naturopath and has an herbal product he calls "nerve sedative" for any pain that keeps one awake. I've tried it now for three nights, and it does help lower the intensity and the number of leg cramps. PM me if you want his email address to get his product info.

The ginger and other herb info posted earlier looks promising. I have two friends who are BIG fans of ginger for just about anything!! They both make it into a tea, not raw. I already grow my own, so that's an easy experiment.
