This poor girl can only remember things for about 60 seconds. Her family has been in search of answers for over 2 years. She has now been diagnosed with Lyme. The journalist at our local Fox affiliate has been following her story closely. He has produced 18 episodes of her story.
Has anyone ever seen Lyme do this? Practically zero memory, only 60 seconds at a time? Any advice for her family?

Yes. She never recovered from the concussion and has virtually no memory at all.
She wakes up each morn thinking it's 2 1/2 years ago.
The family has looked high and low for help. She has been on Dr. Oz and there has been a People Magazine article.
Recently a doc suggested they test for Lyme and she was positive.
Big problem is the family has spent a huge amount of money trying to find help and they are running out of resources. They have a GoFundMe going.
They live just a few miles from me so I have followed the story closely.

In 1994 I woke up one morning with a deep seated burning ache that I had for 11.5 years. My memory was kind of weird. I had to write down what coworkers told me and when I literally turned around or spoke to someone else then I would forget the notes in my pocket.
After using a key to a med cart for 20 yrs., one day I stood at the nurse's station holding the key and staring at the lock not knowing how to use it.
Even my habit reflexes werent remembering. I had 2.5 hr long blackouts. I would have a destination while driving and not show for 2 and a half hours and not know where I had been. I would be driving to or from work and get lost or not know (12hr shifts) if I was going to work or going home.
One time I was in back seat of car my sis was driving and mom was with us and next thing I knew we were in the back of a grocery store. I said where the hell are we?
The worst seemed to be when husband and kids wanted to rent movies on weekends. I would always suggest ones that we had just watched the week before.
But one time the weirdest happened. We see a commercial for an action movie and they wanted to go rent it. I said we already watched it. They said no we havent and did not believe me.
Ok, they said what was it about. I told them and they just couldnt believe I had watched it. The next time we were in the video store I had picked up that video and read the back of the box reading the exact word for word layout of the movie.
During that time, nurses were always coming to me asking side effects of drugs because I always new them then this became kind of freaky and embarrassing. But a good thing.
I did get better with treatment and memory improved. I still cant remember what we watched last weekend or anything on TV but it comes back as familiar if I see it again.
My good memory for side effects has returned to pre lyme tx which is also weird. No black outs but just for few seconds may not remember what my intentions were. I still write everything down and still lose the notes.
My spect scan showed abnormal. My memory tests last year showed above average audio but below average visual memory. They say below average visual memory can be caused by lyme disease.
