recently "diagnosed" with Lyme, GP and Neuro disagree with results... Neuro says no, GP says yes. Would like to move on to an LLMD to have them verify or dismiss. I am 37, do not recall being bitten by a tick, but hail originally from the NY area.

Most neurologists & infectious disease doctors ignore 98% of the published literature on Lyme disease & co-infections in favor of big pharma and corporate greed.

It may be difficult to find an ILADS-active LLMD in GA who will adequately address serious co-infections, like Babesia & Bartonella.

Consider treatment in any other states?

Yes, I am willing to travel to get me in the right direction... I actually just left my job (teaching toddlers) because I could not bear the physical strain of it anymore, and the director of the preschool, who is a friend, suggested that I get myself better so that my family can count on me... all of the information I have read or perused about Lyme has been overwhelming. My GP is a great guy, only threw in the Lyme test on a whim based on my symptoms. He thought for sure it was some other autoimmune disease. It wasn't. Went onto the Western Blot (?) to verify the initial Lyme test, which is where the GP and Neuro disagreed. Was sent to the Neuro to rule out MS, scan was normal. Neuro was convinced it was a B12 deficiency, it wasn't. I am back to believing it is Lyme, and am on my second round of abx. GP treats another patient with Lyme who travels to NC occasionally with her son, so my GP is the go-between, and I trust that he would do the same for me. I just don't know what to do at this point. I guess my choices are to travel to a reputable LLMD, or to seek a Naturopath here and try that first? I have 2 small children, and traveling will be a burden on other people juggling the kids. Is there any other test my GP can order to confirm the dx of Lyme? Does it even make sense to ask him to if he is only on a learning curve in treatment of the disease? Any advice is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

I am from Atlanta too and am having problems locating a good LLMD. I am considering traveling to NC if I can find a good one there. Please let me know if you hear of any good ones . I am seeing Dr. Rayapudi, an infectious disease dr. in Atlanta. Many people have recommended her as a diagnostic doctor and initial treatment, but not one who should be used for long term treatment due to her relative inexperience and her unwilingness to treat long term due to political pressures. I just started my treatment this week. Best of luck, let's keep in touch.

After MRI's and other tests, my neuro and GP called it stress and anxiety.

SScott... I will let you know what I figure out. Which area of Atlanta are you in? I am trying to get in to see a recommended Naturopath Dr. before I travel. I figure it's non-evasive, so since there are supposed success stories, it's worth a try? Anything other than feel like crap all the time, right?
