Hello all,...i dont want to write so much, because it would be allot to write about its only been a month and half with these symptoms ever since i notice a long scratch sitting in the park on my neck no rash though..since aug 7.

but i need to see a doc soon i feel like im wasting so much time...im so afraid what i have may be related to cardiac lyme...i have an appointment soon with a ILAD...but not for another week and some....i was tested negative by western blot...

but my chest pains in the manumbrium which is the main symptom i have come and go..occasional mild elbow pain but it goes away..i have occasional night sweats, and waking up early..early this morning i had what felt like a heart attack....

i feel fine now after taking cayneene pepper...and i dont want to go to the ER again....smh...the doct that tested me i asked for anti-biotics and prescribed them to be just in case it is lyme related...

but not sure if i should start them or not..and make matters worse....i need help fast....my life depends on it

Welcome to Lymenet!

I would recommend you also write a new post in "Medical Questions" and include the text about your personal situation. Many will gladly offer advice to help you.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are. At least half of all Lyme patients go out-of-state for care.

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025539;p=0

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/NewYorkLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):
http://www.nyclymesupport.org/

[**NOTE: I strongly urge you to go to the NYC Lyme Group, as they are very educated on the various local doctors. They can help you to figure out the best doctor for your situation, and alternative if that doctor is very booked up. Also, they are very knowledgeable about treatment, etc., not to mention supportive of you.]

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

Also "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on http://www.veoh.com/m/watch.php?v=v21055812yWtmpgB8

Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.

To do this click the pencil/paper icon, make your changes, then click "Edit Post". Thanks.

Yes, as hopingandpraying said, you can start a post in Medical Questions and people will respond.

Also, break up your text into a couple lines at a time so many people here will be able to read it.
