I am an adult that was recently diagnosed with Lyme. I have been sick for a few years.

I live north of Phoenix and I am willing to drive to where ever - to get more than two weeks of treatment.

Can you please help me?

Absolutely we can help you lost_soul and welcome to lymenet._

You can request a LLMD through Global Lyme Alliance here;

https://globallymealliance.org/education-awareness/find-medical-professional/

You can request a LLMD through ILADS here;

https://www.ilads.org/patient-care/provider-search/

You should start by getting your finances in order as Lyme disease and co-infections treatment is expensive. Learn why LLMD's don't participate in insurances here;

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/25539?

Start a folder with everything medical. Include all providers seen, all medical procedures and blood tests, request copies of all results, journal all your daily symptoms, all your diagnosises, all your medicines and take with you to your 1st LLMD visit.

Feel free to post any questions you may have and lymenet members will respond with their experiences. We are open 24 hours a day, we never close.

You can utilize LymeNet's 'search' function located in the middle of home page. It contains a vast wealth of information you will find nowhere else.

You must become your own health care advocate, research as much as you can on Tick Borne Infections. So very important. We will help you, just ask. Good luck on your healing journey.

I will send you a private message.

Welcome to Lymenet!

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between, so you need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025539;p=0

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/ArizonaLyme/info

Maybe they can help. They would know better about AZ.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):
http://whatislyme.com/lyme-in-arizona/

www.azlyme.org

http://www.lymenet.org/SupportGroups/UnitedStates/Arizona/

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
